Baby has finally arrived!

Blessing Iloracolor>size> was born at3:45am today, weighing 7lbs 5oz & measuring 19.5" long.

She was born at home & delivered by daddy!

We're both doing well, and I hope to be back up & running around quickly.

Thank you all for the prayers & well wishes during this pregnancy! We couldn't have made it through without you!

Littlereo, I'm so sorry! Several years ago my brother was over at my uncle's house. My uncle has 2 lab dogs and they will try to kill any kind of small animal. Somehow they had found anest where a baby rabbit was at and they would have killed it if my brother hadn't of seen what they were doing and went and got the baby rabbit. He couldn't put it back because the dogs knew where it was and would go back for it if he did. Anyway, he brought it home to my mom and I and we tried to get it to eat, but it wouldn't. It was so tiny that it would fit in the palm of your hand. The little baby died the next morning. I was just happy that those dogs didn't get ahold of it and kill it like that, it was atleast warm when it passed away. Same with your baby rabbit, he may not have been with his mother, but atleast he was in a house where he was being cared for until he left. Take care, Genny

The rabbits seem to know alot about reproducing and surviving, I think they know what they are doing. They drive my dog crazy. They must be short of food in this heatwave, the rabbits ate 95+% of the leaves off my carrots this week, totally ignored them before. In a couple of days, just stems left. I assume that the carrots will still keep in the ground the rest of the summer, adn I can pull whenever I feel like.

You can use Regular Goat Milk found in the carton at your local grocery store.You can also use KMR (Kitten Milk Replacer) available at most pet stores for the handfeeding formula. Avoid ANY regular milk, puppy formulas, etc. The following is a guideline for the daily amount to feed a TRULY orphaned bunny (mother was killed, etc.) Remember with wild bunnies, the mom only comes back at night to call and feed him; please put him back for her if just found and healthy. With domestics, the mom only feeds once or twice a day for only 5 minutes. Leave babies with the mom. For wild true orphans, see contacts for wildlife rehabbers under wild orphans.

i found a young bunny once after a big storm, he was half dead. I took him home and cared for him for a few days and then started calling around to vets to get a check up. In my area there are only certain vets that will deal with wild animals. Anyways, the vet I found refferred me to a rehab and sancturary for wild animals. They try to rehabilitate the animal to be released into the wild and if it can't be they keep it on their property with others of their species and age. The bunny had a bad eye infection and went blind in one eye so he was kept on their site. Years later my husband hit a racoon, didn't actually run over it with the tires - just went under the center of the truck. He picked up the racoon and brought it home. We kept it in a kennel for the night and contacted the same rehab the next day. They rehabilitated the guy in two weeks and released him in a safer area. Perhaps if you call around to vets in your area you could find something like this? Or maybe if you contact my local org. they can refer you to someone in your area? (link below) Good Luck! It is so true "April showers bring mothers flowers" What a precious and oh so cute baby. Glad to see mom and daughter is fine, now we gonna have to keep poor dad in our prayers, bless his heart. congratulations on the special birth of that little girl..

Beautiful, great picture, boy what a tough lady you are I needed drugs to have mine you look great. Lili is still the prettiest one. give a hug to daddy but tell him to let you rest for awhile what a miracle she is. blessings to you all . lots of love and giant hugs auntie carol
