looking for camera for birds

I'am looking for a camera that takes good pictures of a bird in flight. I have a kodax and take good pictures but not clear enought. i also have a Olympus takes beautiful close up but not very good when a bird is moving comes out blur this picture was taken with my kodak anna

I don't use a fancy camera at all.

I use the 'action' setting that you use to take sports photos. There is also a setting on most cameras that lets you take multiple pictures in sequence. The pictures are usually a little smaller than your camera usually takes but otherwise fine.

I've used just a plain olympus and now a kodak z612. Nothing fancy.

And I take lots and lots of shots, film's cheap.

How much are you willing to spend? I can highly recommend the latest Panasonic Lumix superzoom, the FZ35. Amazon has it for $322. I know several people who paid $400 when it was first released in September. Here are some sample photos from it: FZ35 photos on Flickr And it even takes gorgeous videos. Do a YouTube search on "FZ35" or "FZ38" (the model name in Europe) to see some.

Juanita, I have only taken a few pictures with the SP500, then my dad borrowed for trip, I haven't seen it since. I dig them out when I get home. It is a good camera with a decent lens on it. The image processor is great too. .raw - 'raw' is a file type like '.jpg', '.gif', & 'bmp'. It allows more flexibility when editing photos. It helps for better manipulation when you need to manipulate the White Balance or recover details in shadows and highlights, the files are HUGE though. An 8MP raw file is 3-4mb and it slows down your camera when taking pictures if you donÂt have decent buffer or a high write speed card. As far as not doing any editing, I hate it too, that depends on how good of a photographer you become. The only photo that has any editing is the one of the couple, I increased the exposure +.11 and that was it. The only my camera forced me to edit my pictures is when I am at ISO 1000, which I donÂt do very often anyhow. I absolutely love my Canon SX50 for my birding shots. It gets up much closer than my 70--300 mm lens on my Nikon. I think there is a SX60 now. I use one camera for birding, the other for landscape, etc. I am lucky to have both. But the Canon is good for landscape shots, too, and is the one I travel with as it is smaller and doesn't have removable lenses. It is just easier to cart around.

POE is a great feature, and a network cable means the highest quality image and availability, but it also means you have to cable each of your cameras back to your system vs wireless.
