hey!!! take them off now .. tomorrow will be ok ... do NOT leave them for 5 years .. if i read that part right ... personally ... i would also take off SOME OF the small brachlets that are growing toward the center... put your palms together.. with your fingers up ... the tree you will look at .. can be that sparse in the middle.. AS A VERY EXTREME mind picture .... not that is has to be you dont need to go in there and nudify it all.. but you should be able to see where certain ones.. are growing in a way that MIGHT cause future problems ... have no fear.. many of them will be naturally aborted as the canopy grows anyway .... or.. leave all but the two.. and do it next year.. or the year after.. or in 5 years.. etc .. ken ps: you may as well flex those new felcos .. lol

I don't grow these well at all, I live in semi desert, and I even set mine in shade and put water around to give them humidity. They are lovely plants, I wish I could grow them. Epi were my first love, couldn't grow them either. Norma

Love your 5th photo. Daylilies, rose campion, white petunias, they are lovely together. I love the old fashioned feel that the rose campion gives to a garden. I also like the way you have your picturs lined up next to each other, and the fact that you can click on them to enlarge. I will have to spend some more time learning how to use photobucket.
