It is really nice to see what hostas you all love the look of. Harryshoe, I cannot tell you whether or not your Northern Halo is actually named correctly. It looks gorgeous though. I have a sneakin suspicion that if it were in my garden, I would be loving the look of that one! I am not clear though about what it is you would like a suggestion on. Rob_sneyers, I had never heard of a hosta named Eos. As for Queen of the Seas, I just got it last year and I am hoping to love it too. Bernd, those are a nice bunch of hosta you picked. Don B. I got Brother Stephan last year. It had 2 eyes. It is now emerging with 5 eyes. I agree that Babka's Brother Stefan is gorgeous. I am crossing my fingers that mine might look that good. Thanks John-cast scheduled to come off May 9th, but I have worked hard, can do stairs, etc. My Gueacamole had a hint of "crinkling" like last spring. Fragrant Bouquet, Stained Glass, Fried Green Tomato all look "unruffled". H. ventricosa look like they thrived on the cold and are growing aggresively. It's been over a week now since I have seen them but hope to be driven down to Wilmington soon and get another peek. I can't wait. I have no doubt my planteginea will come back fully as if it never happened. Thankfully our little gems have hardy crowns and roots. But am I wrong in wanting ALL of my hostas to give their best showing every year? (lol-if I didn't I wouldn't be active in Hosta Forum) The lowest T forecast this week is 35F and if we survive the week I should be home free for the season "frost-free" But as weird as this weather has been I hold my breath. I am already past the latest frost date for 2008,'09, '10 and '11. Steve and ken, do you know of any good links that explain the technology of frost? I don't know if I even had a frost-line in my soil this past winter. After a week of 80-90F weather I would think the frost zone would be well above the radiant heat given up from the soil. this confuses me. Les

Well, I LOVE them ALLL. I have to say there is not a one that I wouldn't mind having. I do have to say that Color Glory done very will for me as all the others did (SO FAR). And, yes there are some that aren't as pretty as other but I tend to find something that I like about every hosta that I have. So, if I had to pick one it would be Frances Williams. She is an awesome hosta - doesn't burn for me looks great! She tends to stay for a couple years and leaves me. I HAD Colory Glory which was beautiful until the stinking, no good for nothing VOLES had it for a midnight snack along with Spilt Milk, Independence and countless other. OH and Thunder Bolt. Boy, I was MAD on that one. I do agree that hosta loves what it loves and they can tend to be spoilt. Anyway, I also have a question. Have any of you tried the Castor Oil remedy for VOLES?

After reading all of your info and looking at pictures, it looks more like LP which is much bluer and looks closer in size to the one I have. However, it sits very close to root of an old lilac tree. That may be inhibiting it's growth. Don't know. Would love to move it to better location, I am not sure when to do that. Advice? I will also checkout SLL as it has been in my garden since the mid 90s.
