Will a Hosta grow back from roots if leaves have been eaten?

I had some deer damage late in the season (August/September) when they finally caught on that I had Hostas now! Or maybe it was the rabbits, I'm not sure. Whoever the culprit, they ate one hosta a night to the ground and they mostly did not put on new leaves. Does that mean they're goners? Will they bounce back next Spring?

Thanks for any input you can give.
