Ron, is it me or did you guys do a lot of standing around? It seems like your pics show a lot of that!! Hahhahahahhahaha!!!!! Are you sure you do all that hiking???

The American Falls and The Maid of the Mist taken August of 2009. If you have never gone on this ride it is well worth it. I've lived 10 minutes from the falls all my life but didn't experience this until last summer! Sure glad I did it Up close to the Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side.

The water is just a couple degrees above freezing. The lake upstream still has ice on it. On the upside; in just a few seconds your feet are so numb that you can't feel the sharp rocks. Ron

Thanks Patti. Yes, it was really done on low budget. Including the granite, all materials and labor, it was a little less than $8,000 (granite was almost 1/2 the cost). I hired a handyman and except for the granite countertop, he did everything, including the plumbing and electrical. He didn't have any overhead expenses and thus, saved me bundle of costs. He is one talented man and I was very fortunate to have found him. You know, I did alot of homework & research to be able to stay within that budget. Buying smart and did alot of bargaining when purchased the materials. It also helps to be willing to settle for less expensive materials. Yet, the finished look didn't compromised at all. I'm extremely happy to be able to have all that on what I could afford.
