Pogo was King of the Apple Tree the other day. Snow is falling heavily this morning.

I am still posting pictures from Des Moines, Iowa, from when I was there in November.

I drove under this bridge, and then found a place to park by the Botanical gardens. Then I walked to it, and then over.

This weird little ball of fluff was on a tiny ledge above a column at the corner of the porch. It was there several nights and I couldn't figure out what it was till I saw it before it curled up. It was a wren trying to stay warm.

I never would have identified that as a wren. I hope it succeeded in staying warm!

Reminds me of the nursery rhyme...

The North wind doth blow and we shall have snow,
And what will poor robin do then, poor thing?
He'll sit in a barn and keep himself warm
and hide his head under his wing, poor thing.
