Russell Sturgis (October 16, 1836 - February 11, 1909) was an American architect and art critic of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Started up in practice in NYC (1863), his works included Farnam Hall, Yale University, New Haven, CT (1869or70) and the Farnam House, New Haven (1884 He was one of the founders of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1870. A very interesting man. I learned a little about him because he was an acquaintance of my Great Great Grandfather and as a young man my Great Grandfather respected him and his work a lot. LIL
