Gazania, Teddy was 27. I had him for almost 7 years. I rode him on our trails behind the farm where he lived. He was in great shape most of the time I had him. He developed COPD last year and I could still ride him in the fall, winter and spring. But this spring he developed cancer, so I retired him to live happily with his 10 friends in their 33 acre pasture. It is a 100 acre farm with about 40 horses on it. I never would have thought I would be back riding horses at my age (64) but it has been so much fun. I have a really nice group of friends and one is letting me ride her horse when she can't come out. I'm grateful for that. Teddy was a character. He loved people and coffeecake! :) He had a lot of personality and was a favorite on the farm. He will be missed for sure. Thanks for asking about him. He liked a good roll in the mud. :) And he was just a very handsome boy.

Santiago, an orphaned male Mountain Lion at our local zoo.

Any idea what flower this is? It was planted in front of Santiago's enclosure. I've taken some liberties with the image and toned down the color some for effect but the shape of the flower is so unique I'm betting someone here knows what it is. I'm in Southern California.

Murraysmom.....yes. 30 seconds and a flashlight...buuuuut....remember me saying I ripped my knee, can't stand all that long, so I went back to the car and Dh stayed with a friend and waited for the moon to come up.....this is his shot....much better than mine.....maybe next time....we're going back in a week...

There is such a thing as a Hawaiian Wood Rose, that sorta, almost, faintly look similar to what you show, Then again, I am probably not right.

I just Googled HI Wood Rose and that's not it but seeing photos of the wood rose brought back great memories when as a newlywed my hubby got me some as a souvenir when we went to HI on our first anniversary. :-)

Nicole, a flashlight? LOL That seems like such an insignificant light, but you are getting great results so I guess you know a lot about it. :)

I love Robin's picture too, but yours is cool because it looks like the mountains are spewing out the stars, volcano style!
