It's always amazing to me all that is still going on in the garden in October. You have lots of fall interest in yours. Your Tricyrtis White Towers is lovely. I wished I had planted more beets and less kohlrabi. Kenzie and I picked the last of the veggies today since frost is predicted for tonight. We have a large basket of peppers of many colors. There are still carrots in the ground as well. I don't know about you but by the time October 1 rolls around I'm ready for the vegetable garden to go. The flowers not so much. Michelle

yo dave...got my X304 in april...sold my L100 that was six months old...the L100 was good in Fl. but not here in the mt's of Georgia...it is one fantastic machine..just take it easy at first with that AWS especially on downhill when turnin...but once ya get used to it whoa baby...just ordered the mulching kit today and should have it in a week..if ya interested I'll let ya know after I use it..good luck with yours..

REplaced the hard drive - uh-oh. Your legally installed Windows system was on the old drive. When the replacment drive was installed, the existing system needed to be transferred to the new disk (if possible). This can not be done by a simple copy. An image of the old disk must be transferred to the new disk. Software such as "Copy Disk" is used to do this. If the old drive was failing and could not be effectively accessed, then the computer system has to be rebuilt by reinstalling the sysem from your original CD and it needs to be 'activated' from the MicroSoft site. Contact MicroSoft's web site for instructions. If you do not have the Windows original software disk, then the store from which you bought the computer may have a legal copy and should be able to reinstall for you. Look around in the material that came with your computer (when you bought it). If you do not have the Windows software, is there a "recovery disk"? Look for instructions about how to use the recovery disk. This may save you. If you can not find a way to resolve this issue, then you may be faced with buying a copy of Windows and starting over. This points out the need to make a recovery disk soon after you get a new computer.

This oxygen discussion is interesting. I had heard people suggest they moved to lid for laying cocoons and procreation, but I never saw evidence of that. I saw intertwined worms in the bedding but not the lid. I attempted to use a technique I read about on here to keep the worms down in the compost trays I took an unused tray and filled it with about an inch of shredded paper. I put that layer on top of the others and the worms seem to stay in the other levels now and not near the lid. I'm sure this paper allows plenty of oxygen through but it's dry enough that they don't seem to want to hang out there. It actually dried out the top compost tray a bit more than usual so I had to lightly spritz it with some water. I noticed if the paper layer got damp (even from condensation) the worms would start to move up there. I guess it's all a matter of balance. It's been long enough that I decided to try to process the compost in the bottom bin. It was kind of damp and there were still quite a few worms in it. I moved the oldest tray to the top and loosened the compost with a plastic spoon. With 4 other bins sitting on top of it the compost was very dense. I found dozens of mature worms in that tray and a lot of little tiny worms. I attempted to use the bright light technique to get the worms to move to a lower level. I discovered the worms were hanging out in the loosened compost just below the surface. So as I process it I'll uncover a couple worms and they'll move down a bit. It's a slow process but I think it's helped slowly dry the compost before I process it and to keep the worms happy while I take away thin layers of compost. Since they're hanging out in the loose compost more than the dense compost this might support the idea they want fresh air.

Thanks for the tut Shylee and the grey hairs it gave me.
LOL I had to keep starting over and at one stage my angel actually seemed to bounce around the screen and the name disappeared in a few frames but I finally did it.

Heheee - NO Elaine, I'm NOT taking requests. LOL

I really like this one, but I looked at the tut and I am confused right at the beginning.
What is frame 1,2,3,4,5?
Is that the angel?
I think I'm hopless.

Yes frame 1,2,3,4,5 is the angel supplied you copy each frame so you have 10 angels. Then add the text, bird, leg etc to each one then take into Animation shop.

Mandy copied and merged the text and leg with each of the 10 angels because they're needed in every frame. Then starting at frame one we copied and added what other bits were needed and Copy Merged (hide the frames you don't want) paste as new animation.

Close off that layer open the next angel add bird etc and Copy Merged go to AS and paste after last frame.

Back to paintshop and close off that layer and open 3rd angel and any bits she needs etc etc ...

LOL clear as mud eh?! It's different to the tutorial but the only way I could get it to work.
