Purple, I think I missed those posts! I've tried keeping water dishes out for them but I've never seen them drink from any of them (guess I can't say they don't drink from them at all though.... maybe I'll put some out for them this year). Hubby says we have skinks (he's seen them at his Mother's before, but not any where we are), but I've never seen one myself. I had a potted Lantana a few years ago when I still lived with my Mother. I couldn't figure out why the soil kept coming out of the pot until one day I pushed on this "hump" in the soil and it moved! Needless to say I left the toad alone aftert that. Planto

My cousin Deb had a bunch of windchimes on her back porch... She had a sleepless night and they were driving her nuts... She said she took a pair of sissors out there with her and snipped them all off....with a "there, that takes care of that!!!" and went back to bed....lol She could have just taken them down...I would have rescued them..I have a crooked gnarly tree they would have been happy in. My chimes are glass, hand made by a special cyber friend who sometimes posts here...She has a georgous blue bottle tree.....I keep them on the porch so they don't get broken. Even at that,about a month ago, during a wind storm, one piece got broken . I'd love to have a bunch hanging in my tree that those in the picture. patti

Oh heck yeah. I guess I look at friendship differently than a lot of people. Just because I've known someone a long time does not make them a friend. If someone craps on me, they're not my friend. Of course they get chances, but probably my closest friend and I have not spoken for some time. He got into a variation of a cult and I can't, rather won't deal with it. I've given him chance after chance and warning after warning but more of the drivel about politics and probably direct quotes from Fox "News". For a while, I'd prove him wrong and laugh in his face. I asked if he had the opportunity to choose the flavor of the Flavor Aid he's going to drink. I'd reply with videos of his diety du jour and prove him wrong but he'd continue to spout the rhetoric. I suspect much was an enticement to an argument. He loves a good debate. I like an intelligent discussion and don't mind if there's disagreement, that can make for a good debate. But there's limits. I finally had to go no holds barred and then he got all upset, asking why I was attacking him and insulting him. Well, I'm getting off track here, but people change. Interests change. And just because you don't see someone doesn't mean they're not a friend. Life is full of acquaintances, some closer than others and all subject to change. I think too many people are hung up on having "friends" and/or worry about losing them, rather than having quality, or at least non-toxic relationships with people. Life doesn't have to be a bowl of cherries, you can disagree with a friend and still be friends. But "friend" is more than a word to me.

If you can transplant into a little bit bigger pot without disturbing the existing root ball it shouldn't add to the stress on the plant. You don't want to go from a very small pot to a big pot all at once. You need to do it in stages, one pot size up at a time. I converted your Celsius and you're talking about a range of 51 to 66 Fahrenheit. That is not too cold at all for roses. Roses can take temps down to about -2C before suffering any damage. At 11 to 19C they should still be growing, slowly but growing. Put it outside, in dappled shade, and give it a chance to recover. Once it leafs out again gradually move it out into full sunlight. Roses need a lot of sunlight to bloom. Roses also like a lot of water. As long as the pot has good drainage holes so any excess water can drain out of the pot freely don't worry about the drizzle. Do not put any kind of tray under the pot that will hold water in the roots. Roses hate to sit in water and have soggy, wet roots. Don't worry about the fertilizer that's already in the soil. Just do not add any kind of new fertilizer to the rose until it leafs back out and is growing again. Keeping it outside where it will get rained on should help flush that existing fertilizer through the soil quicker anyway.
