It would be so nice if people would post the part of the country they live in when asking questions..... It is very unlikely that a dry fall would cause tulips to turn brown..... Do you mean like crispy brown? Or are the leaves just purplish? Some tulips have deeper green leaven than others. Perhaps that's the case? As for smaller bloom, that happens with tulips....very likely there will be even less if any bloom next year. Linda C

If one of them has already sprouted in the refrigerator, it's probably ok to plant it now, although it might grow really soon. But I'd hold off planting the others until December. On the other hand, you might want to check with a plant shop in your area more familiar with your warm climate.

My ivy leafed small light blue morning glories bloomed first and got to about four foot tall. The Early morning, or tall mix got tallest at about ten foot and bloomed much later. Because they needed to be sown after frost I didn't see a lot of difference between my direct sown and winter sown. I didn't use the best soil though and my drainage was bad. This year I'm doing more and will be direct sowing for ease of planting out.
