A rare sight here.....we think it must have hit the glass in our neighbor's breezeway. He seemd semi-tame and eventually flew away.

It's a ringed neck pheasant. Fairly common and a game bird here in Minnesota. I didn't know they were in California. The were imported from China. My Dad grew up in northern minnesota in the 1920's. He tells about some being released in their area when he was a kid and they would come and eat with the chickens.
