Good reminder! I have gone to an all-cash system. I no longer use cxredit cards. All my accounts are closed. I draw out just enough money each month to buy groceries, gas, and a few little "extras' like my weekly manicures and an occasional cup of coffee at a diner. If my cash is low, I brew coffee at home.

No we don't operate in that fashion. We use a couple of cards but never let it go past the end of the month.

Use credit cards for everything--they are always paid off at the end of the month. Plus, my cards have "cash-back", so I actually make money by using credit cards!

I'm with Wanda Charge as much and as many bills as I can to CC then pay the one big bill at the end of the month and get csh back for points earned Carry very litle cash wih me .

I use both. I usually pay off my credit card bill monthly. If I don't pay it monthly it's because I had a big purchase and decided to pay it off in 2 or 3 payments (max). That happens once a year at the max though so it's really not a big deal.

Last week I needed gas, so I went to our new Kroger gas station, used my Rewards card and saved 10â a gallon. Fortunately I was down to about 1/3 of a tank, so I scored!

nope not here...we don't use credit cards. We have had one in the past that we would take on vacation and use for gas but would pay it off when we got home.

Our Christmas is always "cash" only. We've used the Christmas savings plan, when Denny still worked. The kind they take so much out each pay day and put it in the savings.

Now we put back money out of our Tax return each year.

But our family keeps growing...I need to find a way to save a little more.

Nope! Every thing I charge is paid off at the end of the month. And enjoying building the money rewards!

I scared the "ghosts" away long time ago. I charge most everything in the way of regular purchases to keep records, including co-pays on medical. Having lived a reasonably frugal life I'm able to pay my way as I go. Had new fixtures installed in the bathroom by a plumber (so you have an idea of what it cost and it 'twer'nt no few hundred bucks!) and paid for it. Bought a 2 year old vehicle several years back and paid for it. I don't live to keep up with the Jones', don't have a showplace that people travel from afar to see (and wouldn't want it), but what I have is mine, all mine and if I want to do something, I can. I don't have to fret if I want to buy spring water to drink, or take an overnight trip somewhere. I also pay my way for medical bills. I worked hard to get here and am enjoying the benefits. I can't believe the way a lot of people live, but then again so many were raised to expect everyone to take care of them - no personal responsibility.

No, several years back before all this downward spiral in the economy happen, my husband started really working on paying off everything we owed on, including house and cars, and credit cards. We had taken a Dave Ramsey course and took it seriously what he taught, and applied what we had learned to our finances.

If you are looking for realists, consider me. I have only a debit card. I don't think I am the smartest in this approach but then again I am not the richest either.

We have only one credit card, use it from time to time to keep it active but we live day to day on our debit cards. Basically we live like our parents did, if we don't have the cash, we don't do it.

Not our house. My husband is the ghostbuster in the family -- so much so that every year before we go out of town for Christmas, he checks the credit card statements online and pays off the balance in mid cycle. Because I do most of my Christmas shopping between Thanksgiving and mid-Dec., its always the biggest one of the year. This year was a problem for me because I wanted to surprise him with an iPad, but I couldn't put it on my credit card because he would see the charge before Christmas so I had to make a special trip to the bank just to get the cash out of my "mad money" account. It was probably my first time in the bank in 2-3 years.

What burns me is that we cash customers have to help pay ...

... the extra fees to offset the deduction that the credit card company charges the store ...

... plus ...

... interest on the money to keep the store operating until the credit card co. pays ...

... plus ... the benefit that you "cash-back" clients get from the "credit" card co!!

Drat!!

Give me, a cash customer, a discount for giving you the full price ... now ...

... or I leave the goods on the check-out counter and take my business elsewhere.

Pay the credit card bill every month all the time. Never ever had a finance charge. . We only have one we use all the time, Discover, but have to have a Visa too since not everyone takes Discover. Did use the Visa Gap all last month and earned $60 worth of free Gap clothes.

Nope - we put everything on credit cards, and pay each off before any interest accrues.

Carry very little cash.

Well, I'll get those statements in the mail... but none are past due.

They are paid in full each and every month.
