The only stuff I buy my husband is Jean Paul Gautier. I can smell it on any man and I'm in heaven. It's not strong at all. Turns out, my boys love it too, so I buy it for them too. I wear the womens version.

I've always been partial to Grey Flannel, Aramis, and Halston but none are new. They are timeless classics and smell great on every man. The first time my sister smelled Grey Flannel, she bought it for her boyfriend at the time. When she gave it to him, she told him "If you don't like it, I'll wear it and people will think it's you they smell!" LOL She loved it and so did he. Cool Water smells really good, but I can take it or leave it like most of the other recent ones for men. Have to say I really like Paco Rabanne, too.

My favorite mans cologne is called Faconnoble, sold at Norstrom. It smells really good, but it's very hard to describe a smell in writing! ;-)

I like 'Nautica Cologne for Men' -- it's a very clean scent and not overpowering -- especially for the office.

I like Cool Water best also.

My son loves any of the Hollister colognes (so do I)...and Abercrombie and Fitch.

Hands down my favorite is Acqua Di Gio by Armani. It's fresh and light... not overpowering like a lot of guys cologne. Mmmmmm.... lol.

I like Farenhiet and there is a new Lacoste green one that is really good.

If you have a Sephora nearby, they have a sample pack. It costs $50 and has 8 smple sizes of cologne. Once they decide which one they like there is a coupon for a full size of whichever one they like best. They have a men's and womens. My friend bought the mens and when we were in the store we smelled them all. We liked all but 1.

Obsession here. DBF and I both like it on him.

Ummm Obsession is what my DH wore. I still have his last bottle. It's getting old now (he died 8 years ago). But every once in a while, I'll take a whiff of it, and think of him.

Steph, there is a Stripe and a Classic in the Faconnable fragrance for men. Which one are you familiar with. I'm also looking for a new fragrance for McCloud. I like everything he wears but he's always looking for a new one. We don't have a Nordstrom's so I'd have to order it online. Would you describe it as a spicey or woodsy scent?

LOL! I wish Main Man would wear Cologne. All I can smell is Mennin Deodorant.

If He put on Cologne, I'd be very suspicious! LOL!

Bestlawn brought back memories from high school though - my DBF in high school wore Aramis. I loved it. Sometimes I'll smell it in the cologne dept of a store and it's like I'm back in high school. lol Great memories.

Wow thanks for all the good suggestions!! I think I've just nervous picking out a scent for DH by myself. He's usually picky with most other stuff.

DH doesn't wear or care about any specific fragrance, but the posts above remind me of times past...Aramis on almost any attractive man in the '80s -- oh yeah! But I also wore Giorgio and also had a lot of attention from (sometimes not so attractive) men. The '80's were over the top in makeup and shoulder pads, but I hadn't until just now associated the times with fragrance as well.

Currently, I have bought basic fragrances such as Stetson for DH, which he seems to like. Hmmm...I think I'll start a post on what YOUR favorite fragrance is...
