I DIDN'T this year........everyone had their designated bag!

Except one for Addy Kay...the doll & stoller/buggy I just rolled it out when she was not looking.

Vickers made it very easy wrapping for her family using the bags; we just stuffed and put the name tags on as she seperated.

WHOMEVER invented the "gift bag" was brilliant!!!!

While wrapping I always have a few tape dispensers and scissors on the table and this year I accidently wrapped a tape dispenser and a pair of scissors along with a sweater lol Good thing I was there when the person opened it.

I always wrap one at a time and mark it immediately. If I don't have a tag or something I write on there with a marker or something and cover it with the tag. Sometimes write it on the bow if I use one but make sure I tape it well. Normally I remember the gifts to the person so it never really got mixed up.

That said, I DID switch my state and federal tax returns one time!! And one time only!

That somehow reminded me of the episode of Cheers when Cliff was doing a video on how good it made him feel deliving the mail, with someone's Social Security check, letter from their grandma or whatever and he was dropping the mail in peoples' door slots. After he walked out of the frame, everyone came out into the hall and exchanged mail!

DS really liked the Far Side cartoon in the paper so, I got him a hard-bound book of the cartoons. When he opened the gift, he had a funny look on his face and I asked him if he liked it. He said yes, and he liked it when I gave him the exact book last year. OOPS! Dottie

LOL! Dottie, I gave my DD a DVD that I had given her last year also. I asked her if she was sure I wasn't just rewrapping the old one :)

I was happy that I had my gifts all wrapped by the day before Christmas Eve. I am usually up like you were Patti - wrapping late on Christmas Eve.

I had a day planned for wrapping here - and then they didn't have school, so the kids were home and it was mostly their gifts... I was glad I got it done though.

I only made one mistake this year. I gave all the kids a digital frame. I bought a 2 gig memory stick for each frame. I have all their pictures and their kids pictures on the computer so for each frame I put all the pictures of them as kids for each one and a few group pictures of their kids and their cousins. I also put all the pictures that I have of just their own kids. I labeled each memory stick so I could keep them straight. After I wrapped each gift I put the appropriate stick in the box and put a tag on each gift as it was being wrapped. When I wrapped the last box I took the stick to put in the box and saw it had Robert and Shannon's name on it. Well, that could't be, because I already wrapped their gift. I didn't want to unwrap the gifts I had already wrapped so I put that stick in the gift and put the name tag on it that I thought it was supposed to go to. They all opened their gifts last Saturday anyway while they were together, so it was an easy mistake to fix. They have all called since getting the gifts to let us know how much they like the digital frames with all those family memories in them. That's quite a compliment. They have never thanked us twice for anything previously.

The only issues I've ever had were with multiple names. I used to be married to a man that had the same name as his father, and his sister had the same name as his mother. My current SIL has the same name as her mother, my husband has the same name as my sister's husband.

My grandmother used to label the box. She'd put the item (clothes, towels, etc.) in the box and then put Sue on the box, so when she got around to wrapping she wouldn't have to open the box. I don't know why I don't do this since I always seem to have to open and close boxes over and over to check.

Yep! Put 2 year old DGD's name on a gift for her 7 year old sister. Fortunately it was clothes and not a toy they would have fought over. My DH does the wrapping and i 'try' to tie pretty bows and put the name tag on , so we have an assembly line going,,, guess i got way behind ... haha

Several years ago, when the nephews and great-nephews were much younger, I somehow mixed up the names of the five or six little boys on my list. I sent the Oregon children's gifts with the names of the Mississippi children and vice versa. The relatives still refer to that as the year Aunt Bettye re-named everybody's children! Bettye

Last year, my son opened his gifts (and there were many)!!! and did not seem happy, but rather confused. It seems as though when I was ordering from Amazon, I ordered from the
"If you bought this, you might like this" list. It was not anything he had wanted and so, the confused face! I felt terrible, but I got right on it and ordered the correct things which were delivered in a few days!!

I had gotten one of my grand sons a pair of sleep pants that had crazy designs from the "Office" all over them...Well, when my DH unwrapped them, he had the strangest look on his face...Oops

My wrapping mistake is leaving price tags on things. I order most items off the internet so I got used to not having to take off the price stickers... then when I buy from a regular store.. I forget.

I asked my now 25 year old DD how she found out there was no Santa, and she told me that I had left a Walmart sticker on a present that was from Santa.
Oh man.....I felt awful.

Many years ago my inlaws were here for Christmas. DMIL and I didn't get along very well so I decided to do some research find something that she really wanted for Christmas to try and appease her. I found out she really, really wanted a Harry Connick Jr. cassette tape.

She was thrilled with her gift and asked if I could play it as she couldn't wait until she got home in a couple days to listen to it. I took my daughter's cassette out and popped Harry in and we all listened to him for the remainder of their stay.

On the day they were leaving town, I said, oh wait, don't forget your tape and picked up the case which had the tape in it and handed it to DMIL.

The next day when they got home I get a call from her and the first words out of her mouth were "Is this a joke or something?" What? I don't understand, I say. "Are you trying to kill me?" she says. What? I say. "You sent us home with Christmas with the Chipmunks with Alvin and friends cassette. I laughed so hard I cried and once again, I was treading thin ice the next time she was in town. LOL
