Would Like Prayers for Kat WA

I spoke to Kat tonight for about an hour. Her father is in a nursing home and on hospice for his cancer. She said he only has a couple of weeks left. She is working part time and traveling over an hour each way to see her Dad about 4 times a week. They could use all the KT prayers that we can muster.

She also said that Ryan has been going to college in WA and will be going to college in Ohio this next semester. Her life is pulling her in many directions.

On a good note she got her results on her cancer and everything is wonderful and still in remission. It has been 8 years now which is wonderful. She misses everyone and says that she will be back and posting after her father passes and life hopefully will slow down.

Awww Nita,how good of good to contact Kat.

Hopefully,this season passes well for her and her Dad.

I hear ya's on the mostly likely weed ID, YET, when Kat was kind enough to share it, we raved about the cool leaves and little flowers. I dont think Kat would be giving away weeds, do you? I think this plant had strings of green beads too, if it doesnt have the beads, its was right near where a plant that DOES have beads was. Yo Cindeeee, I have had that happen with mato seedlings too. I gave many away saying these are full size beef steaks and out comes some sort of cherry mater. I bought the seeds and distributed them right from the package. A lot of folks were not happy at all. Have Dennis make a plant DNA meter so we all know whats what out in the garden.

missstaceyh, Hi, It's funny I haven't been on this site for about 6 months until a couple days ago when I posted something. Thank you for the compliment on the flooring. This August we will have been in for 2 years so pricing might be different now. But with economics it also might be better. If memory serves me right we paid about $14 installed. I remember installation was a huge expense since we live in SoCal and everything is higher here. I think the flooring was about $6 uninstalled. I could be wrong on those figures but DH has the paperwork at his office. Even with the cost though we still believe it is the best feature of our home and to this day it still gets the most compliments. Of course, since it's not stained digs and scratches don't show as much. We chaulk those up to just making it more rustic. The wood is white oak, unstained, unscraped, 8" boards with random lengths. What you might do first is see if which ever dealer is closest to you would send you a small sample. We actually got two 3' x 3' samples (one stained) and found the unstained to be much much easier to clean. Even if you have to buy it you'll know for sure if that's the floor for you. Once you know get a local installer you trust to tell you how much to buy. I would think any decent installer should be able to lay it for you.

Lorrain, Krislrob and Sierra. Thanks guys for thinking about me. I posted on Lorrain's other thread tonight that we're ok. We're on the south mountain of the inland fires. So long as the winds continue to go west and die down we'll be ok. So long as there are no more idiots out there or the winds don't head east then we'll be just fine. Lorrain, PLEASE let us know how you're doing.... Krislrob, I have friends I believe are in your area that were really worried yesterday. Today things are looking better for them. I hope you're fine too. Another couple who had their 2nd baby on Saturday live out by you (know that I'm really praying hard here for you!) Anyway, these friends are around the Lawerence Welk resort. They got to go home last night. Still, I'm a bit worried because their newborn isn't eating and it's only a week old. I heard that the smoke is ten fold worse for new borns. AND... my friend said his home smells horrible of smoke. God, I HATE Santa Ana's...... and weirdo's!!!!

Thank you, God spoke through you to me. I lost my husband Tuesday (6/15/10) suddenly to a massive heart attack, he was 55 yrs old and we were married 34 yrs. We always said we complimented each other. When one was down the other picked them up. I "will" search for those positive things he brought out in me and do something positive with them as God brings them to my memory. Bless you

I'm thinking of you Kat. I'm sorry about your dad. Hospice will help him so much during right now. I'm sure it's hard to see him like that.

Like Nita said, On a good note, you are an 8 year survivor and I'm so happy the test results are coming back the way we hope. ((Kat))

My most Special Thoughts & Prayers going out to Kat, her Dad & her whole family. I loved when she posted pictures of her Dear Dad. He seemed like such a sweet man. I will be praying for the most peaceful passing possible for him until the angels reach out to bring him Home.

(((Kat))) I'm so very sorry to hear about your dad. My prayers are with him and all of you. And to add to your emotional distress, your "baby" is moving across the country. I lost my father within a year of my first going off to college, so know how painful all of that is, and you are having it all at once. Please come back and post when you have the time, there will be lots of support here. Plus we miss you!! Great news about your health!
