I didn't know she had shingles. Just what she needs, after all she has been through. She is always in my prayers, and I hope she will check in soon.

I haven't seen her on facebook in the last few days either. She's in my prayers.

Hi Matti - The sutures have been removed, the swelling is down, and the wound doesn't look quite as revolting, but because of nerve damage the hand doctor (orthopedic surgeon) expects it'll be six months before my hand is back to normal. It's a pain (literally), but I'll take it over Kat's shingles any day. I feel so bad for her.

The cats are still separated. Rocky goes in and out, and the others stay upstairs when he's in. They prefer my bedroom and the attic anyway, so it hasn't been very hard on them. I'm not satisfied with this as a permanent solution, though. A friend recommended Bach Flower Remedies for pets, and I've been looking into that.

Thanks to a negligent neighbor, at least three other cats have been showing up (and mating) outside, in addition to Bonesy, our outdoor cat. Rocky hasn't fought with any of them, nor run anyone off. In fact, if there's food on the porch he defers to a very small (but not very young, I don't think) longhaired female. They hang out a bit together.

I need to confront the neighbor, but I know from past experience she's going to say they're not her cats. They're never her cats. They just hang out in her horse barns. Or were born there. Or something.

I'm wondering how Maire-Cate made out with her neighbor's cat.

Kat, you are missed!

Are you sure it was last night, Chloe? If so, what did she say? I'd be happy to know she was feeling well enough to post. The last post I see on her page was a week ago, when she found out she had shingles. Several of her friends have commented since then, hoping to hear from her.

Just called Kathy, and she is in pain from the shingles and can't function to use the computer. She has shingles all over her face, mouth, head and ears. She has been on anti-viral since Tues. for 5 days. She has been sleeping during the day and then not able to sleep at night. Can't imagine the pain she is going through. I told her about all the messages on FB with all her friends being so concerned. She is better than a week ago, but has a ways to go. She thanks everyone for there concerned, and will be back online when she can.

I can't imagine the pain Kat is in and her shingles are in places you wouldn't think you would get shingles. I hope her suffering isn't long lasting. My SIL's father has suffered from shingles pain for 7 years. This is something I hope never to get.

After all she has been through, she sure didn't need this. Praying Kat gets over the shingles soon.
