a first -at my age!

Having always been on the shy side, and never wanting to be in front of a crowd, tonight at a party where a DJ had a karaoke set up, I did it! Not by myself! 3 other gals,whom also have never done it, sung a Martha and the Vandellas song-- Dancin in the Street. The music was so loud you really couldn't hear our voices, (thank goodness!) It was fun, and now that we've done it once, we're planning our next attempt! LOL The way I figure it, time's going by fast, and why not get out of my comfort zone, and have fun? I recommend it.

Reines has bloomed! :) It smells so wonderful! Ingrid, I have 2 antiques and then an Easy Does It, Strike it Rich, 2 knock outs and a tea rose. First year they're all in the ground so it's taking longer for them to bloom but so much fun coming home each day and seeing what treat my garden has in store. :)

Getting a second dog as the first one ages

I wouldn't worry so much about the older dog as the younger one when his friend passes on. Might need 2 younger dogs! My mom always replaces her elderly dogs before they die. She knows that if she lost her only dog, it would be hard to start searching. If she already has another dog, it eases the grief and you never have to torture yourself with the question of "do I want another dog and if so, when?" I do things a little bit backwards. I had a 10 year old Husky Aleksander, and a 4 year old Husky Anastasia, when my 6 year old Rottie died. I didn't get another dog for a couple of months when a 6 year old Lab pretty much landed on my lap. Then I adopted an 8 year old Rottie from school. Then Aleksander died. Taht's when I got Tatya, my 1+ year old Husky. I don't have time for a younger dog, especially with school, so a one year old was perfect for me. Plus I didn't have to wait as long to start running with her (better to wait until dog is 18-24 months). I just get dogs that I love at random times and at random ages. Tatya was the first dog that I sought out since my first 2 dogs 11 years ago. All the others were just joyful happenstance.

Yes, you should be suspicious. DD had her two sons 3 weeks early, but she is small with an especially tiny waist, so I have wondered if her body just can't manage much more than 6.6 pounds or thereabouts. I do remember reading that the last month, the baby puts on 1/2 pound a week. Egads, is this going to be one of those 10 pound babies?? But don't tell the momma; she doesn't need the worry! Congratulations, and enjoy all the fun of the preparations. I would be knitting and crocheting like mad in your situation, and I would not be making newborn size for this big baby!

Bigbaby is always telling me to get out of my comfort zone. That's how she got me to join Toastmasters a few years ago. It has been a fantastic experience for me.

Get out and do something you've always watched others do, and wished you could. Sort of like a bucket list for those who stay in a comfort zone. Besides, at this age, people will just shake their heads and smile at us. Who cares! They will be our age one day. Better do it now, while we can.

Good for you!

I've never done it by myself-always in a group. Figure my voice will just blend in. I honestly don't know why singing in front of people is such a scary thing, but it is for me!! My voice isn't awful-wouldn't break any mirrors, but it's terrifying to think of. And I have seen many a person up there singing who is AWFUL, but hey they are having fun so who cares!
