CRL-- you got lots of good responses about wool vs synthetics already, so I thought I would chime in with my experience with Flor tiles. There are many different styles of Flor and some work fine in a traditional home. We have had it in our heavily used LR for years and it has survived band practise and wine and many other challenges . I have a small box of extra tiles hiding under the sofa which I probably someday will need. As for now, if a tile gets heavily soiled, I just pull it up and run it under water in my kitchen and wipe it with a microfiber cloth. We have been quite happy with it. The only downside is that it is not a sit on the floor type of rug because it has no padding. That works fine with us (and it is easier for my MIL's walker to navigate between our hardwood floor and the carpetted area). If you like to laze aroun on the floor, though, it isn't optimal.

Thank you for your replies and suggestions. Ginny, checked my email address and it's OK. Tried unchecking and rechecking again so will see what happens. Breezy, I didn't originally sign up with email enabled, Changed it later and could have sworn I got emails, but that was at least a year ago. Only recently back trolling the boards. Thanks for telling me about Tamara; I'll contact her if other suggestions don't work. Appreciate your help!

Keep watch on the government. There is talk about passing "clunker" legislation. In effect, the government will offer a rebate on the purchase of a new vehicle if the new vehicle gets better fuel mileage than the one being replaced. This rebate is in addition to any offered by the manufacturer. The amount may range from a few hundred dollars to $2500 depending on the difference in fuel mileage. Its an incentive to increase the average fuel mileage of the vehicles on the road. You currently have a Chevy Tahoe at 14.5 miles per gallon. You expressed an interest in the Nissan Cube. Before you become too enamored of the Nissan Cube, check its engine size and power. I believe its a huge step down from you present vehicle. I am concerned that you will not like its weak acceleration. I know! I know. The Nissan is a lighter vehicle and doesn't need a big an engine, but do this: Check the power to weight ratio, e.g., power divided by weight. Use this number to compare the two vehicles. That will give you a rough comparison for acceleration. Its not the whole story, but its a good starting point. Look at the Honda CRV-4, the Toyota RAV-4, and the Ford Escape.

Be careful on responding. Once they get your email address more will come and if they find out you real name, address they can get additional information for identiy theft. Usually anything I get like that comes in on suspect mail. If you get anything more, and watch for pornography stuff, just block it. DO NOT respond that is what they are looking for. Remember block and delete and clear it out of the trash.
