Left overs here..still cleaning out the fridge..

Breakfast for dinner.......pancakes and bacon.
I've got some black beans to use up, and I'm noodling around some recipes to use them in for tomorrow.

Just finished a bowl of popcorn......popped on the stove; not microwave.

Pizza tonight! Finished up the last of my x-mas shopping today. Yeah!!!

Back when I was working, I HAD to keep my mind current and working on several different things at once. Today, it doesn't even matter what day it is, so I think I just don't' use it as much. I still have one neat thing going for me with garbage brain of mine. #2 son often goes to parties that, for some reason or other, get to discussing/auguring about something. He usually gets to settle it....he calls his Mom.

Looks like we're all having a busy weekend! I'm happy to report my weight is shifting down - I've recovered from last weekend's visit with my pal and all that food. I've moved from 145 to 143/142ish. Quite happy with that. Slow and steady is my goal. I will stop losing when my body tells me to. I'm focusing on proper portions and healthier food choices. I figure I will settle on a weight when my food balances with my body. Anything around 130-135 is my goal to maintain. Anything lower than 128 I have to be careful because that is a teenager weight and not healthy for me at this age. Too easy to get sick and have little to help me recover from. Besides, I don't do 'thin' - I'm a curvy build and thin looks awful on me. Got there once in the military and everyone told me I looked gaunt. If I were born to be tall fine, but I'm not. My goal is to be able to garden without back spasms and be able to jolt up a couple of flights of stairs without losing my breath. Maintaining a healthy weight is the biggest challenge, not the weight loss. So I plan to be here for some time to come. We're off to the in-laws this weekend. DH's brother is moving back out west after a year of unsuccessfully seeking work in mapping. He's been working 'online' from his original job out west but since nothing has happened in this area he's moving back. He's been living in his parents basement for all this time - not funny. Time to go. I'll miss him but glad we had the time to know him better. Also going to drive a wee bit down a county road tomorrow to practice my driving. Looking forward to that too. I don't do highways because I am not comfortable making turns at higher speeds yet. Take care, I will try to get online this weekend. Cheers, Peggy

We had an unplanned dinner guest. My daughter's first husband had taken their son swimming, and got back here just as dinner was coming out of the oven. The kitchen smelled so good--I could tell he noticed, so I invited him to stay. We all shared a pleasant meal--my daughter, her husband, her ex, and their son. I'm so happy for grandson's sake that everyone gets along.

I made a pile of zucchini noodles, sauteed them briefly in a little butter with some minced garlic and served it up with grilled shrimp and smoked sausage kabobs. I steamed some broccoli, too, to stir in with the zoodles. It's been very rainy here and very steamy when it isn't raining. No sitting on the patio, that's for sure.

How about a soup...can or two of tomatoes, fair amounts of cumin, chili powder, onions, garlic, peppers...and good broth...
We do stove top pop corn too.

Ooh Matti, way to go..all done...I've barely started..
Pizza is a good thing on a busy day.

Hounds: spinach salad of any kind is yummy to me..

I had a busy day yesterday, Cheryl and I delivered the 60 big yeast rolls , two ten inch pies I baked and the mac and cheese, cheese potatoes and two kinds of cookies that she baked to our church for a funeral dinner. They were expecting a hundred people. From there we went to do our hopefully final shopping before Christmas. We were gone the rest of the day, it was 6:30 before we got home. We had a great meal at Logan's and we used my coupon buy one entree get one free. We both had the southwest chicken and sweet potato and my side was onion petals and it comes with coleslaw and all the rolls you can eat. It was a great deal and we each brought half of our food home. I did not feel like eating that much by the time I got home so I just had a lunch meat sandwich. That was my day, now today it is back to work again.

We may just have hot dogs with either chili cheese or coney sauce...I have both in the fridge..
Must check garage freezer for a package of hot dogs...and stop at the store for buns.. :)

well since my oven quit, it was microwave rolled tacos! had to thow the stew meat in the freezer. along with my second dinner for tonight, baked chops....

down to breakfast, since dh has a business lunch tomorrow and won't need leftovers....
