I did worse. I choked on a sip of coffee and splat it out on the keyboard, which fried it. About one tablespoon of coffee was all it took!

Put a bag of charcoal in the room, opened. The smell will be gone in a few days.

try a bowl of vinegar or a burning candle. The candle works on smoke, not sure about coffee.

Did it get into carpeting or something? I've never heard of coffee smell remaining on hard surfaces. Coffee spills all the time in restaurants, and I've spilled coffee more than once in the kitchen. Personally I can think of far more offensive odors than coffee but that's a personal thing I guess. The smell will probably dissipate over a short time but charcoal, vinegar, vanilla extract (pure), baking soda and/or unscented candles will help with odors. Vent the room too. Or just use a cleaner on the desk, wipe with a vinegar solution or something. If it's coming from the desk that should take care of it. Otherwise you'll have to track where the smell is originating.

Did you just use a damp rag, or a soapy damp rag? Use Pinesol or Mr Clean. Even dish soap in a bucket of water to clean it. I've spilled plenty of coffee and have never had lingering odors from it.

Ooh, I hate spilled coffee. No matter how much you wipe, it still stays sticky. *shudder* I hate sticky!

I did the same thing, TWICE, spilled coffee on my keyboard. The first time, I immediately turned it upside down and shook out the liquid. It worked fine after that, except the space bar stuck. I guess it was the sugar and milk. The second time, it couldn't be saved. I ran to my boss (a computer geek). I was practically crying, I had ruined an office machine. He said , don't worry, they only cost about ten bucks. He went into a locked cabinet behind his desk and gave me a brand-new keyboard.Hope yours is okay!

If you get coffee on a keyboard, unhook it, then turn upside down, tip it this way and that to get it all drained, let it sit for some time to dry out fully. Usually it'll work again.

Some folk running a computer store in, I think it was Texas, said they'd have several get swamped in the basement, let them dry out thoroughly, they worked O.K. after.

Well my keyboard is fine. I can still smell it a little bit. I wiped down the desk with vinegar and water and that seemed to help quite a bit. I have the feeling I've just missed a spot. It really flew all over the place!

I've heard of people getting skewered ...

... but not of desks, monitors, keyboards - getting spewered!
