That was such fun I applauded at the end! I, too, have seen the Liverpool Station video and though it was staged by dancers for a commercial, it's great. I imagine this one was, too, but what the heck, it's fun, lively, and makes people feel good. Thanks, Laura.

Hi, whyndy! Welcome to the forum. My pond isn't "hooked" to the well in any way. It was filled with a garden hose, and about once a week, I top it off about an inch, due to a little bit of evaporation. I bought the circulating pump at Home Depot, and I got one designed for ponds up to 500 gallons. (The tank holds about 425). Mark ran an electrical line to the area, and the pump is plugged into a box as shown above. It circulates the water through a biofilter which we bought at Home Depot at the same time. (The guy there was very helpful in picking out what we needed). One of the most important things is to have plenty of good aerating plants in the pond. Typical aquarium plants will work great, and you can also add some decorative floating plants, too, like water lilies. They help keep it clean and provide cover for your fish. They also help oxygenate the water. If you don't overcrowd the fish or overfeed them, and you don't get fertilizer in the pond (from potting soil), it should stay clear for you. But sometimes, it does take a few weeks to get it balanced. I recommend picking up a good pond book (they even have those at Home Depot) and reading it through. They will have plenty of illustrations and good tips to help you decide just how you want to set up your tank. It's not at all hard, and it is so rewarding. Good luck with your project, and feel free to ask any other questions you think of. Marcia

Even though she didn't actually sing the revised lyrics, it is GOOD FOR A LAUGH! --------------------------------------------------------- This parody of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "My Favorite Things" from the Broadway musical and screen adaptation of "The Sound of Music" was never sung by Julie Andrews — indeed, it is quite possible she is not even aware of its existence. The actress/singer did, indeed, turn 69 on Oct.1, 2004, but she did not perform at Radio City Music Hall that year, nor at any publicized benefit for AARP.

Elmer, interesting. “ I wouldn't come down too hard on music of the 50s and early 60s, all stages in the evolution in the development of rock and roll. Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Elvis, and so many others (especially black blues artists) who contributed flavorings to what became rock and roll and are cited by the biggest names as being their inspiration. Did you know that the Rolling Stones spent years as a white blues band, trying to break through without much success?” I wasn’t referring to Little Richard, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Elvis, and so many others (especially black blues artists) who contributed flavorings to what became rock and roll .. Love those guys. Add many others like Fats Domino. And I have great affection for a lots of the blues artists, many of whom were discovered re-discovered in the 60s and 70s. I have LPs that I’ve played to white powder (I don’t know too many people personally who melt over the heart and soul of some of these artists like I do though). Mississippi John Hurt and Mississippi Fred McDowell, among others. I also used to listen to a lot of “country” music when on a boat with an enormous antenna — I could get WWVA our and clear. And I like a lot of the traditional and mountain music. So much of this music had honest heart and soul. One afternoon in the 80s I went into a second-hand record store across from BU and hit a payload of albums — Stanley Brothers, Johnson Mountain Boys, Seldom Seen; and , Ha, a bunch of the first Joan Baez traditional LPs pre political when she had the most amazing voice. The music from circa 1950’s that did nothing for me, even though it was “popular” was stuff like (please don’t anyone hit me) songs from Perry Como, The McGuire Sisters. It was so overly produced, sterile and seemed as unimaginative as a lot of people I had to endure, and a lot of the fake, polished commercial patent leather feeling nonsense that had (for lack of competition) more popularity than quality. I did not (could not stomach) pat, over-produced know-it-all, vacant radio shows like Paul Harvey either. edited for clarity
