Yippee!!! Snow tonight!

We're expecting 5 -10 cm. of snow tonight! I hope it's 10 and that it stays cold enough to last until Xmas. I hate having a green Xmas. What's happening where you live?

We were supposed to get 5 inches last night too...but you can still see the grass poking through...I need more for Christmas...I need enough to make an angel in the snow...a big "fluffy" angel..."S"

No snow here, but we are having freezing fog. I had never heard of that until tonight.

I'm in the same boat. I don't get too worried about 29 deg though, especially if there is any kind of wind. The wind helps keep the frost off. I get worried when temps get below 26 or so and we won't be near that.

Sorry I didn't read this until 11 p.m. DE time. I would have suggest you buy bales of peat moss to cover the ground. How about hay? Is there a farm supply sore near? We are having the same problems.

It pays to be nice to the neighbors! Feller across the road has a sloped driveway, down hill from the road, so i let him park one car in my driveway on top of the hill. He goes out early, so it doesn't bother me. The other neighbor---i ply him with a case or two of Yeunglings beer, and he plows out the rest of the driveway! Yep--pays to be nize! Of course, any tractor or mower problems are usually solved by me, during winter or summer. We had 4 inches several days ago, on top of what we got last week. (W. PA.) Warming tomorrow, the WM sez!

Right now it's 38 and we have a mix of snow/rain. They are not forecasting any accumulation even though we have freeze warnings in effect, so I'm guessing the moisture is going to move out before we get below freezing. Of course, that's assuming the forecast is right : ) Spent close to 2 hours picking everything I could out of the garden this afternoon. Now if I can just find enough counter space to actually cook some dinner, LOL! Bonnie

Broke records last night with 28 below, now 11 below and another storm on the way. Yes we get freezing fog here/like white outs or the tule fogs that CA get.

Mscsippy...the old saying where I used to live..."A winter fog will freeze a dog"...so,ppl with the outside tied up hound dogs would bank the houses and put more straw bedding in for them.

Mush...the snow is here now,Belleville..a.bout 4 hours east of you.

DS is on the highways plowing,or waiting to go out,north of me here,closer to the Bancroft area.

We are to get what you get,about 5-10cms., with more due on Friday and over the wknd,so odds are,you will have the white Christmas!

With his being on the government roads,they actually get a more accurate radar than what we get thru the weather network.

Oh My Heck........Vega$ had SNOW yesterday....."wet/dense" snowflakes the size of half dollars were falling. It didn't stick around in the valley, but the outlying mountains were still dusted white this morning. Didn't read what the snow fall was at the ski lodge on Mt Charleston..

I have lived here for 30 years and have NEVER seen such a sight. I was carefully driving in a 3-4" slush, obviously something we NEVER experience in the valley and there were the idiots flying by at the normal freeway speed........so many fender benders...all because they were being stupid!

I moved to the hot Nevada desert....FROM the midwest (Southeast Iowa) to get out of the snow, ice and long, cold winters! What is wrong with this picture??????

Portland, Oregon got snow on Sunday and it's been so cold that little of it has melted. We are not set up for this! School was closed Monday, Tuesday, and also tomorrow. We don't have snow plows, we don't use salt on the roads. It's supposed to snow again tomorrow and again over the weekend. I've lived here 15 years and have never experienced this. (By the way, I moved here from Northern CA where we never got snow!) I love the snow, though. Probably because we don't get it very much. My kids are thrilled with the snow days, even though they start their 2-week winter break next week. I teach preschool and we had to cancel our Christmas Program tomorrow. The kids worked so hard rehearsing for it! (We will do it after Christmas.) I'm sure I've gained 10 lbs. being home all day with little activity.

I love snow at THIS TIME of the year only. We here in New England are getting a few inches today with more snow coming friday and sunday...that will be nice. Then it can all go away and spring can begin!!! Wishful thinking!.

Several days ago we had temps of 85Â°, but the past two days it's been in the 30's and 40's, which is way too cold for me. If we could have snow with the cold weather I would be happy!

Had snow here last night with blowing winds and now on thurs night there saying freezing rain. that'll be great on top of snow.

I'm not really happy that it has snowed. It's pretty but that is all I can say about it. I can tolerate it up till Christmas though because the kids love the snow but it looks like this winter will be a very long one as it started so early this year. I used to enjoy it but as I have gotten older...................
