Not sure, but when is the last time you did a scan disc check and defrag? That may help. Maybe your computer has too much in it and that slows down the internet. I don't know for sure, but it's all I can think of.

Well, we've done those things fairly recently.

First couple things that come to mind are that it's a memory issue. Does it do it after you reboot? (Have you rebooted?) The other thought is it could be a slow connection either from the server or on your system.

You could also try a different browser to see if it's a problem with the browser. It could be the page isn't quite compliant with your browser.

This type of thing could have a lot of causes. These are off the top of my head.

It could be the way the photos are loaded onto the site. I remember that topic coming up at a horse forum I get on. If they do a quick load without the info about picture size, sometimes the photos jerk when loaded. Not much you can do about that.

The cause might be the speed of your connection. I experienced the same with a slow speed dial-up connection, but see much improvement when I switch to a DSL connection.

What happens: The page has not fully loaded when you attempt to scroll down. The scrolling operation stalls for a bit while the page continues to load. However, a certain number of your scroll-down characters have been cached in the keyboard buffer, and when more of the page is available, the computer suddently acts on the characters in the buffer and the page jumps down.

This phenomonem has become more prevalent as the internet matured over the past 5 years. Way back when slow speed connections were the norm, programmers used care not to load a page with a lot of graphics to aid in the speed of loading the page. or offered an option of "text only" pages. Nowadays, no heed is paid to this and pages have become intensive with content. The view has become, if you have a slow speed connection - tough luck - live with it or upgrade. Snobbery - yes, but there is a ligitiment demand to have pages with lots of content and graphics.

Hard to determine with the limited info but you can check to see if you have Smooth Scrolling enabled. Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, in the Browsing section scroll down and make sure 'Use Smooth Scrolling' is checked.

Other things could be the video card settings, mouse (does Page Down act differently?), the website design, refresh rate, etc.
