Another computer question

Can anyone explain to me what OneNote 2010 is and what benefit it would be to me, if any.

As you know from all my questions, I recently had my compuer upgraded to Windows 7. Now, everytime I try to print something, a window comes up with OneNote 2010 In order to print from my HP printer I have to adjust that window to the HP computer option. I have no idea why. I also have had to have Internet Explorer 8 rather than 9.

I can deal with this but don't have a clue what OneNote is and wonder if I should have it.

I have that as well, as my laptop has Win 7.

There's a drop-down where you can choose your printer instead of the One Note. Do that.

You can also choose your printer as the Default, then you won't see the One Note option.

Thank you, Pooh! I am, now, able to connect to the internet. I can browse...but when I try to play games on yahoo, register for email, on yahoo and hotmail....I consistently receive "page cannot be displayed! Your thoughts...any questions???

call your telephone people or internet server. They can walk you through it. Our phone company will send out their telephone guy and he'll help you. It is most likly an easy fix. Our server has a program that I use. The only mail I get is people I have on my "allways allow list" Otherwise it all goes into my "spam" folder. Then I check it for other email I want or just delete it. not sure if I explained it verywell but I'd first call your telephone co.

Another vote for Team Viewer. I use the free version to help out a 90-something user with limited ability. Set it up when you have yourself, both PCs and your mother all in the same room. Go through a few trial runs, then put a shortcut for the program on her desktop view.

I would like to choose my printer as the Default but don't know how to do it. Can you help me there, too?

Ivamae, go to Control Panel, Click on Printers and Faxes and put a check mark beside your printer.

I don't understand why you have to have I.E. 8? When I bought this computer four years ago it came with Windows 7 & I.E.-8 but the first time I went online it automatically upgraded to I.E.-9 (64 bit) without even asking me.

The reason for the 8 is becasue mine is 32 bit. Next upgrade and it will be changed to 64 bit.

We got the printer to defaut now and I'm so glad. Still have 1 more problem but I can work around that. I have Yahoo home page and a Yahoo email address. If I want to print an email and ckick on "print" at the top bar, it says " print failed" Same thing if I use control and "p" but if I right click and scroll down to "print" it will work fine. The other day it said something about pop ups but I don't know how that should be set or what to do about it. At least it isn't a big problem. There is a way around it.
