Plus size clothing

I am in need of casual work clothes. I would love to order on line but I am leary because sizes differ so much. Does anyone buy on line and find them to be close to a true size? I don't mind spending money on nice clothes.

I buy mostly online from LandsEnd - but their clothes are casual - minimally business attire. I can get away with it where I work and what I do though. They also have sales each Wednesday and more on Saturdays.

Their sizes actually run a little large! And you can return them at any time.

Silhouettes.com is pretty good.

I'm too small for their clothes but I have bought boots to fit my (ahem) "athletic" calves from them. They seem to have a nice up-to-date line of clothing.

I agree that Lane Bryant's styles are pretty bad, but they are currently showing 'silk' polyester pajamas that are wonderful, IMO. Very soft and fluid, and loose and comfy. I have seven pairs in assorted colors! They also have a nice flannel pullover robe in plaid that actually is roomy and has a flattering cut and neckline. For really pretty robes there is a catalog that begins with a 'B', but I can't recall the name and can't find it online. For casual wear, I love Silhouettes. I've lost count of the pairs of trousers that I have from them. I'm just under 5'5" and need a petite length. J.Jill also carries beautiful plus sizes, but they aren't cheap! Their tops tend to be cut short.

Liz, hope you got a good day's sleep. Mscsippy, no it's not. It's a medical seminar for any related medical personnel. After taking it you get a certificate for training towards your yearly continuing education that you have to have in your career field. The only thing they sell are medically related learning materials and seminars. Maryann, glad you're feeling better every day! Just got home from the seminar, my feet are killing me. I wore cute little black shoes that scraped the heck out of my heels everytime I got up to walk. We got an hour lunch break and the only nearby restaurant was the Holiday Inn's buffet (which was expensive and I don't need that many temptations) and Denny's. Do you know how hard it is to find something not breaded and deep fried or made with bread or rolls there? I finally got a side salad (which was huge) and dressing on the side (they brought me a bowl of it! That and one skewer of grilled shrimp. Alex stayed home from school today, probably with the same virus that Lauren had about a week ago. I'm going to go for a walk as soon as I stick the chicken (for dinner) in the oven. Oh, the seminar was interesting but I didn't learn a whole lot of new info.

Well what do you know!! In the last few years, I've been seeing these phantom dead moles showing up in the middle of my lawn with no evidence of a critter that has killed them (i.e. no eaten bits). I don't spray anything anywhere and don't put out any poisons, so it couldn't be that. However, I do plant all new roses with the moisture crystals to guard against drying out and transplant shock in their first year. After a while they fade and the rose doesn't need them. That must be what is systematically doing in the moles. Can't say I'm sorry, since it doesn't seem to affect the bunnies or other more welcome animals or birds in the yard, and it doesn't poison the bees and insects either. Ya learn something new every day! Sharon, it probably couldn't hurt to plant with a light sprinkle of SoilMoist as you transplant the roses, but I wouldn't count on it to resolve the whole problem unless someone with more experience tells you otherwise. I've never had a problem with moles, but I've always planted with the Soil Moist so maybe that has avoided the problem. Sympathies on the moles/voles - it really can be devastating. Gotta love it when I mistakenly do something RIGHT for a change...rather than mistakes like stepping on or otherwise killing the poor roses. Cynthia

I order from Lane Bryant or Romans.The only problem I have is finding tops that are long enough but the sizes are pretty much true to size.I've never had a problem paying with a credit card or returni9ng items.

same here...although romans is more dressy than l/b, which is now called woman within...

the only thing that i don't order in reg size are cords...i usually go a size larger, because of the fabric...

and they don't charge for returns...

All time fav - QVC. Just about everything they have in fashions is small through 3x. I'm not a catalog or online shopper but my sister bought something for me form QVC a while ago and I've been buying from them since then. Funny thing, I get the most compliments when I wear their clothes. I've also bought some things from HSN.com and ShopNBC as well. QVC sizes are more like the standard sizes and they pretty much QC their things. I've sent some things back but usually if I follow their size chart, I do OK. Denim&Co, Dialogue, Quacker Factory and Sport Savvy are most common lines for them. You can do casual to career.

I second QVC if you are looking for casual clothes.
Denim and Co, Modern Soul, Dialogue are my favorites. I have to order separates as I need larger tops but smaller bottoms. Sport Savvy is most generous in their sizing.

Qvc refunds their shipping charge if you have to return items, but you do have to pay postage for the return.
You can go online to Qvc.com and browse all these different clothes.

Modern Soul is great - forgot about that one. I'm waiting on some things I ordered the other day. Some of the items could be considered casual dressy that you can even wear to church. Like that line.
