I like dunking toast into hot chocolate and crackers into soup.

I dunk crispy sweets into tea or coffee or milk.

I dunk crackers into soup; I don't like crushing the crackers into the soup to get all soggy.

I like angel food cake, or cornbread, served in a bowl with milk poured over it.

I like my celery plain; no dips, no sauce, no salt.

Tried it, didn't care for it that way...

I dunk grilled cheese sandwiches into Cream of Tomato soup, and I dunk biscotti into coffee. That's about it.

I can't think of anything I dunk.

Lindsey beat me to it....I like to dunk toasted cheese sandwiches into my tomato soup. I can 'taste' it as I type. Sometimes when I'm feeling under the weather, I butter a slice of bread and dunk it in Beef Consomme soup.

Oreos, which I have down to a science. First, I twist, then eat the creme, put the two cookies back together and dunk then into their own milk. Not the milk I am drinking. Then, I wipe my fingers with the napkin I got when I sat down to eat them. If you have never tried nofat oreos dunked in milk, don't. They don't absorb the milk.

Not a dunker, but I often have left over cornbread in a bowl with hot milk;sometimes that is my breakfast.

I learned from a pro.... my Dad. Didn't know it at the time, but I think his teeth hurt him, and he dunked everything. So, I do love dunkin' dry things into coffee; the day old cinnamon roll or slice of raisin bread. Not dips, so much or apples in that caramel dip.

No. I hate soggy food.

I have dunked my morning toast in my coffee from the time I was a child. I also dunk my chocolate chip cookies in my coffee. That's the only dunking I do. I like to break up crackers in tomato soup.

For breakfast, I like dunking French or Italian or bolillo bread into my coffee. The consistency is just right. Any other bread won't do because others become too soggy or not soggy enough.

It's one of those things that many from my native country are accustomed to doing.

I like my coffee sweet and dunking donuts makes it sweeter which I rather not.

Yes, I dunk donuts, but rarely these days because donuts are off my diet list - too rich in carbs and don't have not much else. In my earlier life, i loved to have a coup;e of krullers with coffee at work iin mid-morning. Sadly, that was then, not now. Yep - dunked 'em.

Ha, I rarely consume the items on your list. Only toast, celery, coffee, and milk are regulars.

As for dunking, nada en nada, and never have. Maybe because (as I recall) my parents never did.

After being married to a Swede for 33 years, I dunk. His family would take stale bread or cinnamon rolls, slice them, put butter and cinnamon on them and toast/dry them in the oven and dunk them. I have one of their recipes for Swedish Rusks which is like homemade biscotti. They bake it on a cookie sheet, then slice it into thin strips, separate it and dry it in the oven. It is very good.

I loved their Swedish tradition of open house, no need to call. They had open house every day for coffee and cookies before noon, again after lunch and in the evening after dinner. Everyone they knew were welcome to drop in. You don't find hospitality like that anymore.

Sop, don't dunk!

Nope, I'm not a dunker. I do sop, occasionally, Glenda, is that a Southern thing? The problem is that I seldom have anything good to sop these days! We don't eat gravy and I don't eat syrup, etc. Now that I think about it, I could eat about a gallon of Steens Pure Cane Syrup and a couple dozen hot biscuits! LOL

Of course I like to dunk! Either milk or tea, or grilled cheese in tomato soup. No coffee for me. Crackers can be dunked or crumbled in my soup too.

Not much of a dunker or sopper in my past when I ate stuff like that. Maybe toast into hot cocoa when I was little.

As children, my little sis called me a dunkin fool or something like that. lol

Guess I got over most of that, but I still enjoy dunking a cookie in milk, depending on the cookie.

One of the things I most miss dunking is peanut buttered toast into my tea but now I have a sensitivity to peanut products. I did try sunflower seed butter on my toast and dunked it but it just wasn't the same. I also like to dip biscotti in my coffee if and when i have it which is rarely. I grew up in a household of buttered toast and tea dunkers. Another thing I used to dunk was Pantry Cookies, they were hard flat gingerbread cookies and we would smear butter on them and dunk them because they were spicey. I miss those cookies.

I also love buttered bread dunked in tomato soup but most of the time I just make bread boats instead

When your last few teeth departed some time ago ... when it comes to hard cookies or similar items: you dunk!

Except for doughnuts that are soft enough to worry around in your mouth for a while to get them broken/soft enough to swallow.

I can only think of two things I dunk. I dunk cookies (in hot coffee or cold milk) and I dunk French bread in soups and stews.

You can purchase anything you want in life, if there is a budget adequate to permit such things, like teeth. Glad y'all mentioned soup, I'll dunk any kind of sandwich in any king of soup. I hate when an item breaks off during the dunk and falls to the bottom of the cup. Graham Crackers just came to mind too.

You're right Fixer, it's a matter of priorities. It's just so rare anymore to see someone with NO teeth. Restorations of various kinds have become so common, natural looking and available in the past few decades compared to years ago.

Most people give the appearance and functioning of their teeth a very high priority. His comment made me curious enough to want to ask why he apparently hadn't.

If you're reasonably frugal ... you may want to drink the milk/coffee ... even when it's had a chunk of cookie break off and drop in (it can be rescued with a spoon).

Sometimes I wear my top prosthesis, well made at the dental school, when I want to look younger.

The bottom one was fitted to the three visible teeth that I had ... and after the teeth wandered out of position, I didn't bother having the plate repaired so they'd fit.

Now that the three visible teeth, along with one that never erupted, have gone ... I guess that I could use it ... even with gaps.

ole joyfuelled ... with some fuelling assistance from soaked cookies.

If they're big ones, and you can't take a bite out of one side ... it's hard to get them into our mouth undunked (unless you have a very big one)

I would dunk celery in a Bloody Mary. Have, in fact.
