Jeans and a t-shirt. To bed early.

A husband and wife from our church are hosting a liquor-free N.E.P. at their home, so I will wear something sorta dressy, such as black pants and a dressy top - should be a lot of fun.

Evey year I wear my special multi-colored,multi-horned,hung with bells "jester" hat to First Night. I get a lot of compliments on it.

I will also wear glittery eye make-up and probably a glittery "tattoo" on my cheekbone.

Besides that jeans,boots,thermal undies and a warm coat and gloves. It gets cold by the bay.

Snow is forecast for New Years Eve here, so I'll be home wearing something soft and warm and blessedly boring. :-)

I may put on a clean pair of sweats and find a tee shirt not covered in stains.
We stay home out of harm's way.

Pajamas here too. New Years eve will find me sleeping like a child.

Perfume.

I had posted early this morning and it fell off the face of the earth. Yes, I have a new "little black dress". We have been married 50 years and always have celebrated the new year. We don't drink, but have always loved to dance the night away. We aren't as good as we were 50 years ago, but still love it. When i stop to think about it, our dancing the night away, has been shorter nights as we age.

Jammies for me!

I rarely make it to Midnight. I'll stay at home and watch the NYE Party in my jammies. Cozy up to the fireplace.

One year when Mom and my sisters and family were still together we all wore long dresses. It was a lot of fun.

The party we are going to is semi dress. I am sure some will be all dressed up but me well......I will dress up to a point so I am still comfy!! Nice slacks and shirt with a jacket that can be taken off when I get warm.

I'd probably be staying at home any way ... but the car is in the vehicle hosp. so, as it's difficult to hitch-hike at night, I figure I need either to stay home, or arrange transportation with someone. More importantly - don't have an invitation to a party.

I've thought that it would be a good idea to emulate the little New Year babe that arrives without much clothing ... as I'm not too enthusiastic about emulating the old gray long-haired and -bearded guy with the flowing robes and scythe that looks to be about ready to cash in his chips.

And as I don't need to depend on Depends (not yet) ... I thought that I might celebrate in my original attire ... nuthin'.

Trouble with that is ... that's it's usually about 60 degrees in here ... so I'd be in for some teeth chattering (if I had any to speak of).

So I guess that I'll just stay with the four or five (sometimes six) layers on top and three or four on the lower parts.

Maybe dress up a bit, for currently I'm wearing a quilted jacket, both of whose arms had had the outside cloth multipley ripped, so that when I visited the neighbour farmer a few weeks ago, their son in law notified me, with a serious expression, that he wondered whether I was aware that my jacket had a hole in the elbow ... to which I replied, just as seriously, straight-faced, "Which one?".

I've since repaired all of the rips, on both arms ... and was surprised at how much of the task that I was able to do on the sewing machine.

Even if it were to be just jammies - more "Bbr-r-r - r - r" time, if lacking a thick blanket under which to snuggle.

The friend who drove me on some errands, then home, yesterday said that they have a party at home with another long-term-friend couple from 60 miles away, as they've done for many years ... and then the friends sleep over, to avoid driving while under the influence. This year it's their turn to host, so they were planning and working on the goodies. He's a distant relative, and his wife, in whose campaign I helped quite a bit when she ran for Federal Parliament a few years ago, is now on the (elected) Executive Committee of the city.

P.S. If you're to be away from home, and imbibing ... please arrange for a designated driver to deliver you home: we all prefer not to hear of a friend being dead or dismembered to start the new year, right?

It looks like another one of my posts disappeared. I had posted that I wear a purple top that I only wear for New Year's Eve and probably have worn it for 10 years. We only have to drive a half mile to our cookout at Amber and Mike's and we are in the country with the goats, cattle and horses in the area. Everyone have a great New Year.

We'll be a-bed, but until then I'll wear my bright red chenille robe - long, light, warmmmm. Wish the clouds would part so I could see the moon. They say it's as close to earth as it gets now, in December, and it will be full.
