I chop sections out of my P. orientale to give to people and you can't tell when they leaf out. You can see the chunks I've chopped out during the winter though. I haven't had any center bare spots like I do get with my Miscanthus 'Flame'. My other fountain grasses are too young to be divided yet. I don't do them every year. I don't divide any of my grasses every year although I might if I needed the divisions for another spot. I have mostly smaller well behaved grasses so I can cram in more on my small lot.

Great pictures. I'd love to have a pair like that for my two little girls to enjoy! Jared

i grew yellow pear and black prince this spring the yellow pear must have put out 400 to 500 tomatoes so far they are plump and sweet great to at a little color in a salad or a salsa too. as for the black prince it did ok i got about 30 or so tomatoes probably the best tomato i've ever tasted i'm hoping to get another fall crop i'm in pheonix so the brutal summer heat stopped production in mid july on these. juliet tomatoes stoled the show though 100's of nice tasting meaty tomatoes and still counting even in the inferno.......i'm gonna plant 2 or 3 of these next year, 1 of these out produced 5 early girls and they're great for sauces, and salsas too....

We always did great decorations outside and in when my children were growing up in California. It was a major undertaking, we even put in its own circuit thingy (ex is an engineer). Notes would arrive from the neighbors, telling us how much they enjoyed seeing our home all lit up. Now it's just me. I still do several trees, big and small. Maybe this year I might do some outside lights but nothing too gaudy or obvious, HOA is a bit particular. I so love the Holiday season. Right now my little granddaughter is here (so are her mom and dad), we might start doing some decorating next week! Watching a small child who is seeing the magic is very special. I am so thankful this year. Thank you for sharing your homes, it gets all us us in the holiday mood.
