My mom has just the opposite, she's got constipation.. To the point where she squeezes so bad I think she's going to have a heart attack on the bowl sometimes.. When we moved here I almost had to take her to the hospital.. She was so badly constipated at my brother and sis in laws house I wanted to die. She had to sleep in their bed.. My house wasn't ready to move into yet, I hadn't signed on the dotted line yet.. So we couldn't move in yet. It was a mess and so was my poor mom.. She's been through alot in her 85 year's..

CHEAP CHUX!!!! My DH was a big man...over 6' & weighed 200+ lbs. He no longer walked over a few feet & had Alzheimer's. I had no time to run from store to store for proper size diapers, etc. Some sweet soul on this forum mentioned Cheap Chux here...I contacted them the next morning. What a God send! No more wasting time & gas chasing size, type, quantity. They were delivered to my door in a couple of days. However, the blessing was the quality! The very best pads (and adult diapers) ever for my DH. Never a leak..an odor or skin deterioration & counting time & gas expense, no more expensive than the others! (And if Dr. writes an Rx, products are Tax free.) NO, I am not related -just grateful to a company whose owners believe in old fashioned Customer Service & deliver exactly what they advertise. My lab, Abby, developed spay incontinence at 1 year of age. She could leak any time, but it was generally something that occurred more when she was asleep. Definitely rule out an infection, then your vet will give you meds to control it. Though it's not common as far as I know, we used a human homeopathic product with Abby- it worked wonders. Abby was fat when she was young and we helped her lose weight to become a more normal size dog by around the time we started doing the homeopathy. I always wondered if being overweight added to the problem. GL.

I have learned so much from having this fall 2 months ago. My therapist (for my shoulder, mind you) is absolutely the most informative person I have ever met. For the first time in my life, during this recovery period, I was having to get up at night and HER explaination was (in nutshell) I was not walking.... and walking strenghtens that "sling" where your bladder rests. She showed me some floor exercises where you open and close your legs and lift your pelvis. (kinda reminiscent of the "old days" lol). I am happy to report that just getting on my feet.... knees gel'ed up... and LEARNING to walk again has stopped those nightly rush visits. She also had a theory about my loss of balance.... that I (might) have given it up myself, by using my walker (13 years) as a support for my painful spine condition; and since my surgery I had not re-learned to use my back as support and the walker as a safety 'catcher' so to speak. Today, I am spending my mornings sans walker...practicing using the swinging of my arms to balance my stride. Every day I get better. I have had the best therapists here doing strenghtening exercises twice a week.... but finding out "what our body just knows about walking" and how I 'gave it away has been a real eye opener. I am still a work in progress.... but I hope to be able to "stride" around the block someday. Sorry this is so long.
