Caramel and cheese and puffs - what's not to like. It combines several of my favorites. I will have to try them. Thanks for the recipe and love the picture.

Thanks for posting a picture of how they looked. (Cute picture of you, by the way.) I bought two bags of Cheetos but haven't made them yet.

In Linda's post, she mentioned you have to work really fast to separate them. Was it hard? Got any tips?

What we did, and DID NOT USE WAX PAPER, we poured half the batch into a greased pan, spread half of them out, took the rest out of the oven, poured them into a greased pan and spread them out, so they would not stick together. NO PROBLEM!
They cooled quickly, so we put them in zip lock bags, when cool.

I DID NOT KNOW the difference between cheese puffs, and cheetos, so I made it with cheese puffs and my friend and I could not keep our hands off of them.

Now I know why they said to double, with the cheetos.

I had 2 ll oz pkgs of cheese puffs and that was a LOT!

Mine are locked safely away in the trunk of the car, so I won't be tempted.

No thank you, I do not do Cheetos.

Thanks for the tip. Your way seems better.

Reason I didn't know the difference between cheese puff and cheetos, was my father would not let us eat either cause THEY GAVE YOU BAD BREATH, tee hee!

Think next time, I might try cheese balls, if you can find a big bag of them.

I make these with the plain cheese puffs, so I'm sure I'd like them with the Cheetos too. I have put off making them because I KNOW who's going to eat them all, LOL!!!!!

That is why they are stored in the trunk of my car!

Wow..what a deal..mine look just like them and cost a whole bunch more than a BUCK! I really need mine( I can see just the BIG E ) Of course on the bright side, without my glasses everyone looks pretty darn good LOL! Kathy

Sam's Club has HUGE jars of Cheese Balls...HUGE! For 5 bucks.And they are wonderful! I might have to try these.....look good.

I just went to the store and bought cheetos...

Do as my friend as we did.
Don't use waxed paper. Be sure you stir every at 15 minutes!
Take half out of oven, after the hour of stirring, and pour into greased pan, leave the other half in oven, spread, separate.
Then do the rest! etc.
We then put in plastic bags, after cooled, and they cool quickly.

I'm still safe, mine are still in the trunk of car :o)

Please give update on how you like them!

Forgot to say, be sure you spray pans with Pam, that you are stirring to separate the chetoos!

I made them this afternoon,and they are awesome!
My son said he just knew he wasn't going to like them.I had to push him away from the pan as they were cooling.

Betting the cheese balls will work as well!

I made some today, Yum-O. No problem with sticking, I just sprayed a cookie sheet or you can try sprayed parchment paper too.

I used the crunchie or hard type cheezies,and they were sooooooo good!
Everyone who tried them loved them.
Needless to say,they didn't last long,I'll definetly be making another batch.

I am scared to try them LOL I should know better though cuz Glenda never stirs us wrong on recipes...but I just don't know (took me til this year to try the pineapple casserole and I love it) STacy

lol, took some to water aerobics last week, and instructor followed me to car, so she could take some home.

SGD, when she came NY's Day, found the remaining bag, and she kept them to herself! :o)

I like the cheese puffs, and may have to try the cheese balls.

They ARE ADDICTING! That's why they stayed in my car trunk until company comes!

I just couldn't bring myself to make these! I know if I did my blood sugar would be over the top.I love Cheetos,add caramel and I'd be dead meat!LOL
Just wanted to add something about substituting margarine for the butter as mentioned on the other thread.Someone had used margarine instead of butter and they didn't turn out as well.In a recipe like this switching margarine in any amount will alter the results.Margarine contains water which will make a big difference.Ever melt margerine?About half of it will be water.Nix the margarine and go for the butter.In a recipe like this I really doubt substituting margarine for butter is going to make much of a difference healthwise!LOL

I used Land of Lakes margarine and it worked JUST FINE!
Never have had a problem with any of my baking with Land of Lakes!

Glenda-I think Land of Lakes is made with more oil than water.I like that brand too.The more solid they are the less water.
