Little blessings.....

My sisters drove me back to the Cities last night, but on the way we stopped at my nephew's house for a little birthday cake. I got to play with his kidlets ages almost 1 and 3 years old. And I got to have fun with my other nephew's daughter, Xiola age 3. Most of you already know Xi's miraculous story.

This darling little girl walked up to me as I sat on the floor playing with her cousins. She took my face into her little hands and said "Auntie, I pray for you every night", which her mama confirmed. How can I ask for more when I have my own little angel praying for me?

Before I went down for the brain surgery, my sister passed along some other advice from Xi. She said, "Never give up"!

I missed it, but on Saturday, Xi had a dance recital. Would have loved to be there. She still walks a little funny, but much better than even six months ago. She doesn't yet, and I hope never does, notice that she's a little different than the other dancers. She just goes out and performs her little heart out.

Oh, and at the birthday party, she grabbed her mom's digital camera and walked around the room taking each person's picture, starting with me. She waited and looked at the preview to see if it was a good picture, took one or two more for good measure, then moved on to the next "subject". The little stinker took better pictures than I do. It will be fun watching her use her Christmas gift - her own camera!

I do remember her story. I cried and prayed for her then. I am so glad to hear she is doing well. I have been praying for you too. I hope you continue to do well also. "Never give up."---out of the mouths of babes, huh?

I love dahlias! In my area they need to be dug up and stored in the basement for the winter, but I don't mind that. I DO have problems with placing them in my cottage garden. They need lots of sun, and even when I start them off indoors, they seem to get shaded by other planets that have a head-start on them. They can't be tucked here-and-there as I tend to place other "annuals". (I know they aren't annuals, but I treat them like reusable annuals). I think they'd do much better in their own space, but I really don't have room for that in my jam-packed yard. Maybe I should get some shorter ones that can be placed front-of-the-border. Or maybe there are better ideas out there. My mother had a lovely collection of dahlias. She gave them to my sister who left them in the ground over the winter. Aargh!

Nana, you have a sweet snowman collection! I think we have some of the same ones. Throw some snow on that shelf and it will appear fuller. I do remember your snowman ts. Not only did I love all your snowies but loved your tablecloth and dinnerware! Maybe your the reason why I ended up with red, white and blue this year.Thanks! I know it's hard to believe we could forget Candy's BDay on Christmas. Wanted to get on here and wish everyone a very safe and Merry Christmas! Also I am enjoying my many blessings from Erica. In my box was a beautiful ladybug fabric bag! Received some snowflake zipper bags,Christmas stickers, 3 garden notepads, chocolate bar, morning glory Tabi socks, pepper jelly, pins colada jelly ( Yummm) then, this cute little reindeer sack was full of an abundance of seeds - Romanesco broccoli, Cimmaron romaine lettuce, Thai sweet Basil, mixed greens lettuce, borage, green globe artichoke, Italian flat leaf parsley, giant Belgium speckled tomato, Persian carpet zinnia mix, sweet William mixed colors,sugar baby watermelon, Oregon giant snow pea, orange oriental poppy, mammoth dill, English thyme, lovage, ornamental gourd mixture, green & red shisho, and globe amaranth. Erica I am beyond blessed - Thank you so much. That was very generous of you! So I think we have one winner Amy guessed the fabric bag but if anyone guessed something close for the reindeer sack let me know as I will give prizes for both " containers". Merry Christmas!!

Xi is truly blessed with knowledge and abilities (camera usage) beyond her years. And it also sounds as if she's special in the insight arena. If I had her praying for me, I'd lose a lot of fears. God bless her. (and it's really good to hear from you.)

My little blessings? They all have four feet and every day when they come around looking for love and attention, I feel so lucky to have them, even when they're driving me crazy. (Woody's my big blessing and he drives me nuts some days, also!) lol

You finally caught up to me, so there dokk! Didn't want to sit in the room all day and the weather is fairly nice today, supposed to be cold tomorrow so I was out walking around. Love you, worrywart. Lol, Ron - I'll hug him for you when I see him!
