I finally have my baby home!!

And I didn't even have to be induced! Claude and I got up early yesterday morning to get ready. I had a 7:30 appointment at the hospital for an induction. We call a cab (left the van home for my mom and the kids) which arrives shortly before 7:00. In the cab, I start having contractions, and by the time we arrive at labour and delivery in the hospital, they're coming fast and furious - about 2 and a half minutes apart. I couldn't believe the crazy timing, but I was thrilled!

Oliver Jeremiah was born at 12:34 yesterday afternoon, healthy as can be, weighing 9 lbs., 12 oz. and I just love him to bits. He's a beautiful little blessing, and I'm enjoying him SO much! Sophie and Benjamin can't leave him alone - they both adore him. I can't say the feeling's mutual yet. :)

He's a little piggy, wanting to nurse constantly, but that's no surprise considering his weight!

Oh my goodness Nicole! Oliver is so very precious. I absolutely loved seeing your pictures. You have a beautiful family! And you look AMAZING for just having a baby!

Thanks y'all! I am out of town visiting the younger grands and I had a hard time remembering my password. I am using my granddaughter's netbook, so it does not login in automatically. I thinks I will change all my passwords to "password". It is pretty over here the azeleas, saucer magnolias, redbuds are blooming. Hi There are several varieties plus many hybrids . I hope the one for your terrarium is a dwarf form.Many get 8/10 feet tall and of equal width lol. Some are almost everblooming often having more flowers than leaves while others develop large heads but less of them. There is also a type with a wonderful aroma .. Would think the dwarf form would be good for a terrarium if it gets enough light ?? Good luck gary

Dorothy - if you're putting in a 2-bowl sink, then I don't see how you can possibly fit a decent-sized one in the corner and still only take up 42" (not counting the pullouts) on each side. 2-bowl sinks should be 36" wide to have decent sized bowls. If you're putting in a 30" single-bowl sink, then 42" is about right. A cooktop or range of 30" will take up around the same space as a 30" sink. is that a 30" in your plan? I thought it looked like 36" (it wasn't labeled). The difference is that you will spend far more time at the sink than the range/cooktop and it is very rare that more than one person needs to work at a cooktop/range at the same time. Kitchen work studies show: 70% or more time spent in the Kitchen is spent preparing a meal or snack - uses the sink 20% or less is spent cleaning up - and that includes not just sink work (hand washing a few items), but also non-sink work such as loading the DW (if you don't pre-rinse your dishes), unloading the DW, clearing the counters & table, wiping down the counters & table, and sweeping up at the end of the day. - uses the sink 10% is spent cooking - stirring, adding ingredients, watching food cook Based on the above, no more than 10% of your time will be spent at the cooktop while 90% or more will be spent at the sink - so it makes the most sense to have the range/cooktop in the corner where it's used much less and the sink out on the straight run where it's more accessible and easier to use and allows you to have a wider sink base & overall sink size. This is how a 30" range would fit. BTW...how wide is that "south" window and exactly where is it located?

This color is a nice neutral and I like the white trim that make the details of this room pop. Before deciding on the pieces, I would think more about the configuration of the room. I love that you are not putting a TV in here and will use it for reading instead. I suggest making a sitting area near the back windows because it lets in so much natural light. It will be a perfect place to read during the day without having to depend on lamps as much. And, it creates its own space that does not depend on the red or sea foam color influence. For a back of the room reading area, I would: 1. Define the space with a rug. I'd go for something neutral that blends more with the room instead of using the rugs you chose that are such an intense contrast. What about jute with a dark grey binding for texture, or a trellis pattern but not as contrasting as the navy and white you chose? 2. Get an upholstered cushion made for the built in bench under the window. Such a great reading nook, looks maybe big enough for two to snuggle and read! Nice soft window treatment, and maybe sconces or art hung on either side of the window. Toss your current sofa pillows over there to start to give you an idea of that as soft hang out space. 3. I like the idea of putting the sofa in front of the window with a coffee table in the middle and two grey Pottery Barn chairs across from it, facing the sofa. The only problem is that your sofa is pretty high in the back and I don't know how it would look to have it cutting off the bottom of the windows. It is free to move around furniture so give it a try! 4. Going with more neutral colors - tan, grey, beige, maybe a hint of navy and pops of rust means you should throw in some texture to the equation. That can come from a jute rug, fluffy blankets, and shiny objects. (Mercury glass objects?) Plus maybe a coffee table that has some texture of reflective quality. Here are some ideas for the back reading space: Rute rug, gray border Patterned rugs that have grey and other colors Examples of living room window seats: For the middle and front space, I have a few different ideas, but would like to hear more about what you need as a function of this room. Do you have any furniture you own and are looking for a different space to house it in? Do you need more storage for any particular kind of item? (Boots, purses, backpacks?) Do you have a home office or need space for that kind of work?
