this is what I would have sent out if I would have joined.

These are made on the embroidery machine then embellsihed with pearls and rosebuds.

Yes it's been wierd. The gusty wind last weekend bent the metal posts for bean trellis in half. There was no frost but the pole beans all have leaves that seem frozen and thawed. I guess the nights are too cold for Blue Lake. The tomato, pepper, and eggplants seem to be getting a 2nd life and are all blooming now. I try to trim away all the tomato flowers and new shoots as fast as I can hoping for better fruits but despite that they're not gaining size nor flavor.

Thanks for sharing that Ron. I did not know any of those stories. They all touched me, and they made me think of many other stories there are out there. I travel a lot on my job and in pursuit of my other passion in life; trout fishing. I see men and women in uniform in almost every airport I travel to, but I particularly see many on my trips to Charlotte. Some of these folks are going "over there" (or getting ready to) and a few of them I've met were coming home. I never go by without letting these people know that many people here at home, whom they have never met, care deeply about them, worry for them, wish them a swift and safe return, and thank them for their service. I hope these people never ever want for their fellow Americans respect and concern. And I hope that if you are reading this that you will reach out to these people when you see them in your own life, shake their hand, thank them for the job they do, and let them know in some small but sincere way that you care. You'll be doing that person and yourself a great deal of good in the process.

Many people will WS straight into a container. They do put some sort of a greenhouse-creating cover on it. Whether you plant straight in the ground or a pot, the seeds are at the very surface, where it dries out fast, and they need daily or almost daily watering if you do not have a cover to hold the moisture in. You could do that, or just stretch some vented saran wrap across your pots, or use a clear garbage or dry-cleaning bag. Depending on how sunny your spot is, you will need big vents at this time of year since a warm day plus a very sunny spot may cook the seedlings. Most people recommend a soilless or mostly soilless mix for containers, if what you have is actual soil, I would mix it with some perlite or peat or both to make sure it stays pretty fluffy all season.

This is in my backyard. It's getting too touristy though. Notice the green fields. We have had the wettest year ever in history as well as the wettest month (September). You probably had some rain. In fact it's raining now. I know what restaurant you're talking about. I am 100% German with both sides settling in Lancaster County in 1709, but I don't like German food very much. Of course I grew up eating it but never make it myself. I do miss my mother's chicken and waffles and chicken potpie. My son likes shoefly pie which most people out of the area never heard of.

OH my gosh Jenni, those are sooo pretty! The little pink roses are so cute! Someday I want a 2nd tree with pink and that pretty Christms blue colored ornaments.

Yeah the machine does it all...little fingers pop out and glue on all those pearls and rosebuds.
Incredible machine I have...I just sit there and eat bon bons and watch it make these! LOL
I'll dig up a picture of one the machine hasn't decorated yet !LOL

Jenni, those are absolutely gorgeous. Brought tears to my eyes as it reminded me of my grandmother's tree - it was magnificent (at least the way I remember it, it was, lol) and had very fancy and delicate ornaments on it. Thanks for that memory :-)

LOL...I use glue and it doesn't do this nicely for me! I really think to appreciate the work that goes into something like this you have to be some sort of a crafter/sewer. You have to have TALENT! There truly is much more to it than glueing. A true talent for sure! Very pretty Jenni!

Beautiful Jenni! I got a machine at a yardsale this summer,but I don't think it has the setting on it to do what yours does! I think you got a special machine,didn't ya??? LOL!

I could have guessed Wiccan actually. I'm a Googler too. I'd watch that times thrice law AJ.

There are Wiccan (???) in my neighborhood, but I have never known them to be anything but kind and helpful. Seems like people who constantly spew out hateful things to hurt others are not very happy with themselves. Jenni, your ornaments are beautiful and as a crafter, I KNOW that it takes a whole lot more than mastering the art of glueing to make something like that!! Bettye
