Computer email set up question

I just changed computers. I had Windows XP and now have

Windows 7. I had Rogers live email. I have not been able to find how to get this to work on my new computer. Can someone help me, please? I'd really appreciate it.

I've never heard of this email service, but suggest you call this Rogers email service and ask for setup instructions/help.

I wish I could Ivamae, but I don't use Rogers. I'm with Bell, and just use Yahoo. I don't even use Outlook Express.

I used to be with Rogers, but am not familiar with Rogers Live email. (Just live chat with a representative)

I'm not clear on whether you have any AOL software installed on your computer or not. If so, that might explain the difference you're seeing. Did you have software installed on your last computer but are you now using the web interface only ? Or have you been using the webmail interface all along ? And, pardon my curiosity... what is it that annoys you about the inclusion of the original message ? Is it the fact that it's there at all ? In that case, you'll have to manually remove the original message each time (see link in last paragraph below) or use a desktop client which can be set NOT to include the original when replying. Or is the annoyance just that the original message is so close to the first line of your reply ? If this is the case, you could do what I do: just hold the "Enter" button down for a few seconds to push the original message down the screen a bit and give you more 'breathing room' for your reply. :-) This answer in their Mail help states that the "include original message with reply" approach is pretty much the only option they give you. (See their "note" at the bottom of that article.) If you don't like it being there, they make you manually remove it. Hi RC,I've followed this thread from beginning to end and understand what is posted here. What I need to know now is where is this snapshot of the os image stored for future use? Surely it's burned to a dvd,a secondary hd or an external hd, etc. Am I on track so far? Somewhere in the future the original hd crashes, malfunctions or just quits. Do I then physically remove it, set the secondary hd on which exists the snap shot, to primary function, if this be my chosen media, and boot up? If I had chosen to go the dvd route, do I replace the old hd with a new one and use the dvd to install the snap shot image? And in case of an external hd, can it's content incuding the snapshot image be copied over to the new hd? I realize we're covering a lot of ground here and I beg your patience. Please keep it simple as possible. I'd like to get this issue staight in my mind one time. I also understand this can only be done with the original computer the os was installed on. Thanks.

I've looked at the specs, and if this really is wi-fi only...I have a very dim view of that not only for the reasons you're now experiencing but also because the batteries are usually proprietary...a lot of battery power is used in the transfer process and the chargers are cheap and prone to premature failure. The good news for Canon is that soon they'll replace it with a new model/new charger which won't be compatible with your camera...and the cycle will begin again. Been there, done that. You could remove the memory card and put it into your computer...if it has a card reader. If not, plan on buying a better camera next time.

Ivamae, I assume you have gone to their help pages? Windows 7 is different, it does not come with outlook express as part of the services offered so if you do not have your own email program you are in trouble. I bought Outlook 2010, but services like Gmail, Hotmail and so forth are another option. The easiest way might be asking Rogers to setup a forwarding program for you, or setting up in gmail. I know there is a way to select a domain other than gmail but am not sure how to set it up.

Ivamae, what program did you use to access your email on your old computer? Or did you use the web browser and go to their site?

I have XP, I use yahoo or aol. I say away from the ones that come with the pc. Try yahoo no problems there.

Thanks for all the replies. We are sill working on it.
I do have a Yahoo address, so am not completey out of luck. Hope everyone is having a geat New Years. We're having rain and it is very dull and deary out.
