Hi! Nice to have a party to go to!

I would nix A. Don't wear the same thing. Even though people may not remember, who knows - maybe there will be pictures, and last year's pictures. And even if not, well, I just wouldn't wear the same thing to the same event with the same people....but that's me.

B sounds the best to me. And I'd suggest black heels and black stockings.

C sounds Ok to me, too. But - again, I wouldn't suggest boots. I'd say heels. Black heels would work, and I'd wear natural color (beige, maybe) stockings. And yes, certainly a lace camisole would be appropriate.

Have fun!

OMG - I didn't think about pictures! There probably are some from last year!

OK - I'll pick up some black heals. I was hoping not to buy anything, but the only pair of black heals in my closet really hurt my feet. My boots are nice and comfy - which is why I asked about them. But I do need some nice, comfy heals, so this is the time.

Thanks for the help! :-)

Sara Jessica Parker wears tea-length dresses with boots on a lot of her shows, so I don't know why you can't! Be comfortable and enjoy yourself, instead of trying to break in a new pair of shoes, imho!

I could sign my name to Suzieque's response. If you love being 'in' you can wear some of the patterned hose with the black dress. As for the boots, I would only do them if neither dress is dressy, cocktail type attire and the boots are fashion boots as opposed to winter weather boots. (If you are in Texas all bets are off, you can wear cowboy boots with everything! LOL!)

I agree with Suzieque, too, except I might go for beige heels with the red dress. I learned one thing from watching all those makeovers on the Today Show: Beige shoes lengthen the look of the legs.

I'd go for the red dress but I'd wear natural tights with it...back and red can look a bit 'tarty' if you're not careful! I always have a new red dress for christmas but I'm always very careful how I dress it up! Have fun!

jeri, Can I ask how old you are? I'd give different advice if you were 22 versus 62. Thanks.

Being very much into fashion, I would not wear the same thing. If you wear the black dress, wear opaque black stockings with black heels. If you wear the read dress, wear beige stockings with beige heels. Black heels with a red dress are too stark and even it you pair the black heels with black stockings, it wouldn't look good.

Ok! Much better minds have followed my post. I agree - if you decide to wear the red dress, go with beige heels.

I would nix the boots, too. I must tell you a funny story. Years ago we had two company Christmas parties to go to two weeks in a row with many of the same people at both. I ran around finding two different dresses to wear, I couldn't possibly wear the same dress to both. A group of ladies were standing around talking and the subject of the next party came up. One of the ladies was the wife of an executive vice president and she piped up and said "Well I'm sure some of you ladies will be at next weeks party and you will see me in the exact outfit I have on tonight!" I'm standing there thinking.....good for you. And to think, she could well afford a second dress more than I could. So, I would say, wear the same dress if you want to. Nobody will remember unless it's a very unique one of a kind dress that nobody would forget.
