ChatttPatty...When I told Harry you needed cheering up, he ran out to get you his Big Red Ball. No one can be sad while playing Big Red Ball.

...or...you could come frolic in the snow with him.

I just know that someday those ears are going to give him enough lift to get over the fence! LOL

The two top photos were taken while we still lived on the base. The Big Red Ball is not allowed in the house. It's huge; it's made from hard plastic, and Harry throws it into everything. He likes the noise it makes. He has tried dozens of different ways to "sneak" it in. Now all I have to do is look at him and he slinks back outside with it.

If all else fails, Harry will take you an Papa out for a quick pheasant hunt. That's my cousin's dog, Burma, on the right. Obviously, she's not a bird dog; it was a hoot watching her figure out just what the heck Harry and Wes were doing. I think one more visit with us and she'll be pointing and retrieving right along with Harry.

This is Buster. The best cat ever. I had to put him to sleep 3 years ago. He was my best buddy for 19 years.

Here is a picture of the first dogs I had after I got married. We got Samantha (18.5 yrs.) a year after we got Gretchen (14.5 yrs.). I think Gretchen would have been happier being an only dog although they were inseparable. Even though they each had their own bed, they use to sleep together but to but. They were both Chihuahua Terrier mixes. We lost Gretchen in 1995 and Samanatha in 2000. I was so broken up that I swore I would never get another dog and then I saw Elvira 2 years later. So never say never!

I love seeing the fuzzy buddy pictures and I'm pleased to see so many are rescues. Of my 5, 4 are rescues.

Wow... obvious everyone has broadband! Tried to open on dialup and that sure didn't work.

Anyway here's my contributions to the pool. My two rescues, both came from less than great homes and really had some quirks but both have settled down and adapted. They've both become very affectionate (appreciative?) and although they both would prefer a one-pet household, they still find use for the other on occasion.

This is Mama...she was recued in 2001 at a humane adoption...I took her cause I wanted her baby son...couldn't stand the thought of breaking them up...and she ran her son off 3 years later...

She's also known as mean ole mama cat cause she's still very afraid and skittish after 8 years!

This is the collie clan...Duncan is 9..Abby is 3 and Gabe just turned 8...(yes we had a cupcake party!) DH took this at the soccer fields this week where they get to run wide open!!
