I'm grateful that the electricity is back on at school and my kids are back at school.

I'm grateful that an early morning trip to Wal-Mart and a stop at $ General has allowed me to tie up some loose ends, Christmas wise! I even got a lot of wrapping done. I had a bad day yest., so this is nice!

I'm grateful that I didn't break any bones walking to the barn today. "Walking" doesn't begin to describe my attempts to get from Point A to Point B while traversing the layer of ice on top of the snow. Sometimes the ice holds my weight, and sometimes it doesn't. Ouch!

Yeah, Okwriter, get busy! If nothing else, be gratful that we've missed you. :-)

I'm grateful that I can still be in my PJ's at this late hour.

I am grateful that DS will fly in tomorrow night for the holidays. I am also grateful that yesterday I found a nice truck to replace my beloved truck that is considered totalled after I hit black ice last week.

I am grateful that our family is joining my DH's brother & his family this year for Christmas. We have been estranged for a long time & this is probably the last time we'll all be together as my niece is moving to Washington state in June.

Today I am grateful for all these wonderful pecans that were sent to me by a great kt friend!!

I'm grateful for electricity after 7 days.

Heat
Being able to make coffee.
Take a shower at home and shave my legs.
Dry my hair.
Not listening to the faucets drip, drip, drip.
Doing laundry.

So many things.

I'm grateful for the lovely day we are having...it's 30º and the sun is shining.

I am grateful I managed to get a Dr. appointment. My ribs really hurt, and I think I cracked one.

I'm grateful that the holiday luncheon I hosted at work went WELL ... every single person brought something, and we all ate til we were stuffed.

I'm grateful that the sun has been shining about 75% of the time today. It's been a long time since I'd seen it.

My days at work seems a bit slow lately. Probably due to the holidays.

So, I'm grateful that all of you are giving me something to read, to learn, to keep and to laugh about.

I'm grateful that our business is doing better this year and that we are able to give our kids a nice Christmas, after not being able to get them hardly anything last year.

I'm grateful that I had my darling cockatiel, Cricket, for as long as I did, and for all the love she gave me. I know she's in birdie heaven flying free with no infirmities.

((((Junkyardgirl)))) I had three pair of cockatiels in the early 80s and rasied several fat and happy chicks. They are delightful birds. I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm thankful for the Kitchen Table. I've been under so much stress and strain with this Little House of Horrors. It's wonderful to give myself permission to step away and start reading the KT again.

I'm grateful I got a little more shopping done today. Hopefully, I can finish up in a couple days right here in town, instead of going to Omaha.

I'm grateful for the variety of ideas and opinions that people come up with here on the KT. Plus their general concern for one another.

Sometimes when we hear the bases upon which an idea that we somewhat disagree with is based, we find that we have more in common than we thought in the beginning.

It's easy to ask for, or promote, or pray for such a thing as, "Peace", for example.

But "Peace" doesn't happen in a vacuum. It doesn't appear like a peach in midair.

Peaches require a tree with roots, a trunk, branches and leaves in order to happen.

If we don't have a root of justice, available to all, plus a trunk and branches of a yearning and search for understanding and the leaves of compassion ...

... we can cry, shout, pray or yearn for the peach of "Peace" all we like ...

... but we ain't a gonna get it!

Good wishes as you do all of the necessary things through these closing days of the year.

And, if Christmas is important to you, may you have a truly wonderful, happy and meaningful time, this year.

I'm grateful my husband has pneumonia. I know that sounds awful, but he was very sick, and since he is so seldom sick, it really scared me....because, well, you never know. At our age, it could be anything. He has pneumonia, but he is going to be okay.
