My husband sent me one for Valetines Day...I really enjoyed it.The fruit was good,and the arrangement was beautiful.It's like cut flowers...you could do it a lot cheaper on your own,but it's nicer to have it sent. I would buy it again,I wanted to send my Mom one for Christmas but they don't do it in her area.

I ordered an arrangement when a Jewish friend's father died.

It was a gorgeous arrangement, and the fruit was delicious. Unfortunately, three other people had the same idea. We ate a lot of fruit while they were sitting shiva.:)

My sister also bought the chocolate-dipped strawberries one time, and they were also wonderful.

Great! Thanks so much for your input. Based on my posts the last few days, you'd think I'm giving all FOOD gifts... but I was thinking about one of these arrangements for someone who has a milestone birthday (50) just before Christmas.

We just had one delivered to our office yesterday. It was amazing. The only thing I tried was a chocolate dipped strawberry. It was wonderful and I don't even like chocolate.

yes, they are VERY good. I don't know how they get the best fruit.

Am I the only one who was not impressed with the fruit? I do think the two arrangements I received were beautiful, but some of the fruit (especially the melons) were less than ripe. And for what they cost, I think it's not too much to expect to have the fruit be tasty.

I order a lot of Edible Arrangements for customers, always with great reviews. But Donna, you are right the fruit is definitely firm, if it were not then it would not hold its shape for the display. I guess part of it is what one is used to, usually our thank yous are sent to large metropolitan cities...perhaps they don't know what ripe fruit is? LOL!!

Donna_loomis, I sent an Incredible Edibles to a friend once and she was not impressed with the fruit either. She said it was very lovely, but, as you posted, much of the fruit was unripe.

Like florists, I suppose it really depends on the quality of the local branch that prepares the arrangement. But due to the cost and the feedback from the recipient, I probably won't order one again.

I think they're great. I've given at least 10 of them over the years. I have one of the stores near me. I've also given the vegetable one.

i wasnt happy got one for valentines,all the fruit was hard, seemed like they used alot of canteloupe and it wasnt ripe,maybe when fruit is in season but not in hurry to try again..

I have wanted to try one or send one to people for special occasions for a long time. They look so delicious. There isn't a store near me to order from though :(

I have tried to order online but there is no store in my area to deliver one.

We received one for our 30th anniversary this year. It looked spectacular, fruit was top quality and fresh. After eating as much as we could, I plucked off all the pieces of fruit, put them in plastic bags and refrigerated them. The next day everuthing tasted "off". I threw all the leftovers out.I think it's because they used fresh fruit with no preservatives.Just make sure the recipient(s) will eat it quickly.

I use to work for Incredibly Edible Delites which is the original fruit flower company in PA (not the same company as Incredible Edibles & there is also Edible Arrangements)
Where I worked they were very picky about the fruit that they bought. It's neat to watch how it's done. I learned a few things myself. We would get calls from people who thought they rec'd our product only to find out it came from the "other" place. Our place did pineapple, melon, strawberries, cantaloupe. I still wonder how the other places put chocolate dipped apples, bananas and other fruits in their arrangements without them turning brown if they are preservative free. I know for a fact ours was "preservative free"

One thing to consider when sending an arrangement is the size. If the whole product cannot be put in the frig because of the height or width (until they are ready to eat it) then the recipient would have to take all of the fruit off of the arrangement and store it in containers in the frig. This is just something to think about especially if they will not be serving it the same day they recieve it. Here is the place I worked for. I received one when I had surgery. The fruit was delicious, and I really enjoyed it. One problem though is that it is difficult to find room in the refrig to store it, so it has to be taken apart to be refrigerated.

I wonder if the time of year affects the freshness and taste of the fruit. Melons and strawberries, for example, would be at their peak in the spring and summer. I know we get imported fruit during the winter, but I never think it's as good.

My sister and BIL sent me one last year when i had my mastectomy.It was wonderful and all the fruit in mine was/is grown in the next town over(Carlsbad,Ca) so was good and fresh.We enjoyed it thoroughly as did those who came to see me.

I later in the year sent one to my BF when she lost her son,she said it was devoured in no time at all.

Mimi Boo sent one to the get together I had at my Dad's 2 years ago and I have to say it was wonderful. It was beautiful and the fruit was ripe and delicious.

It was too tall to fit in the refrigerator but my Dad had a big styrofoam cooler which we stood on end, put the arrangement in and then packed plastic bags filled with ice around the arrangement base and sides. It looked beautiful the next day.

I was wondering how you stored it as they might not fit in the refrigerator. Reminded me of the time someone brought to the church dinner pretty fruit on skewers. Gnats, were hovering around them. I sure didn't eat any.

My daughter sent one to her daughter for Homecoming at college...The arrangement was held or put in a football which was so appropriate....My grand daughter thought it was the best thing as did everyone at the party....
