For my KT friends

When i came to KT a couple of years ago...It was just to pass the time. I had no idea..how attached i would become..to the people in here. Everyone was just a name..I didn't know you..and you didn't know me. Little by little..you became real people..with feelings..wishes..and dreams...and some of you..have touched my heart..with your caring..kindness..and thoughtfulness. I just want to say..Thank you..to the names that became real people..the people who became friends..the friends who became family....Love you all, and may each and everyone of you have a very merry Christmas, and a safe and prosperous 2012. ;)

Oh wow, I feel the very same way Linda!

I came here a couple years ago as well. It took me a while to get to know most of you. Now I feel closer to many of the KT'ers than I do with real people. Scary thing to say, but with all the support and condolences in a particularly difficult year with Mom passing, you guys have been truly wonderful and touched my heart so very much.

I love contributing on the recipe threads and getting more recipes. You know me and my fur-kids, and I love seeing yours!

You got me through sorrow, and you'll be first to know if I have celebrations.

Like Lindalou, I love you all as well, and want to with each of you a safe and Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2012.

so glad the kids are stepping up! make sure you tag the stuff the buyers want...think of the time with your friend as a "re-nesting" time... be sure to discuss some sort of living plan...for instance mom thought she was doing a pal a favor by doing laundry together, but her pal had a certain way of doing things and it was a sort of a big deal...actually it was for the best as they would have had a difficult time if she'd moved in full time... mother ended up buying a mobile home from a family friend...not a bad thing in hot and dry las vegas! she really loved it and had house guests often (it was 2 br double wide) it was the first house she'd ever had...we were apt dwellers while i was growing up... remember the old addage..one day at a time...it really works!

Thanks for letting us know how things are going, phoggie. It is really great to have friends make a major offer to help, especially when we are in need, up in the sir, etc. I hope that you have some breathing space and can get settled down better into your new lifestyle: it is such a huge adjustment, and I think often goes better if we have a housemate to help us relate to varied thoughts, offering intellectual stimulation along with companionship. ole joyful

Are you sure it wasn't there when you left the hospital? The problem with things like this is people walking next to a vehicle will rub with purses, keys clipped to the belt, strollers, carts, briefcases, backpacks, wheelchairs and any number of things. My poor van is getting more than its share of dings from parking lots. It's too bad when you have a vehicle in good shape and this stuff happens. Some are so oblivious to their surroundings they don't even know that they did it. The police could take a report but it's only going to be a file it to make the complainant happy since there's not much they can do. Problem is you really can't prove when and where it happened so short of someone admitting they did it, it'll be like any number of other vandalism hits. And before calling your agent, check to see what it'd cost to fix to see if it's worth it considering the deductible. Have a safe and happy trip. Much nicer weather for traveling now.

I googled triple layer pumpkin cheese cake: How to Bake a Three Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake .Difficulty: Moderately Easy Instructions.Things You'll Need: Utensils 2 mixing bowls 1 hand mixer 1 whisk 1 mixing spoon 1 spatula Ingredients 1 9" deep-dish graham cracker pie crust 2 8oz. packages cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup white sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 4 eggs, divided 1 15 oz. can pumpkin puree, divided 1 tsp. ground cinnamon, divided 1/8 tsp. ground cloves 3/8 tsp. ground nutmeg, divided 1/4 tsp. ground ginger 1/4 tsp. salt 1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk Instructions .1 ÂPrepare your ingredients. Set out the cream cheese well in advance. Cream cheese should be at room temperature before use to avoid lumps in your cheesecake. Â2 Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Â3 Prepare the plain cheesecake batter. In a medium mixing bowl, combine both packages of room temperature cream cheese, 1/2 cup white sugar and 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract using a hand mixer . Blend until the mixture is smooth. Add 2 eggs, one at a time, blending thoroughly after each addition. Remove 1 cup of the plain cheesecake batter and spread evenly into the bottom of the graham cracker crust. Â4 Prepare the pumpkin cheesecake batter. Add 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree, 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, 1/8 tsp. ground cloves, and 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg to the remaining plain cheesecake Âbatter. Stir gently until well blended. Pour pumpkin cheesecake batter over plain batter in pie crust. Â5 Prepare the pumpkin pie batter. In a second mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup pumpkin puree, 1/2 can (approximately 1/2 cup plus 2 Tbsp.) sweetened condensed milk, 1 egg, 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg, 1/4 tsp. ground ginger and 1/4 tsp. salt until smooth. Pour pumpkin pie batter over pumpkin cheesecake batter in pie crust. Â6 Bake your triple layer pumpkin cheesecake in the 325 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes. The center should still be soft with the edges firmer. The center will firm up as it cools off. Allow the cheesecake to cool completely, then place it in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours before serving.

Lovely post. I think this is such a great forum. People helping people, sharing a laugh, sometimes a tear. A recipe, a hint, heads up on T.V. shows, book suggestions. I'm so glad I found you. I, too wish you all a very Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Happy Kwanzaa, what ever it is you celebrate.

This is the first place I go in the morning, after starting the coffee. I find myself quoting "a friend" so many times, and realize that it is a KT friend. Since I turn you all on before the news, you have also let me know how the world has been doing overnight. Happy Holidays to you all.

Thanks for that sweet note, Lindalu. You are so right. We start out reading the posts (aka lurking) and finally get up the nerve to post. Then we find out that we're among some of the nicest people anywhere. I love that we're from all over, but pretty much the same. I feel fortunate to have found the KT.

Linda...what a wonderful things to say. I too came here many years ago and it has become such a special place in my heart also.

I feel the same way. The KT has been a big part of my life for over 10 years. Such a nice post Linda, thank you and all the other kt'ers for being my friends, answering questions, and saying prayers when needed.

Take all these posts and add my name to them.I came here a little over 10 years ago,and have been coming here ever since.I like all the support you all give when we are going thru our trials and tribulations.

We laugh together,pray for each other,and lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on.What more could we ask for.

Thanks for starting this post, Linda! The KT has been my home for 12-13 years, and I truly feel that my friends are here. I have even met a number of KTers--and every one has been terrific...the kind of people you would choose as a friend in the "real" world. May the KT live forever!

I read all the responses to you, lindalou, and thank you for saying what is in my heart. I don't know how I got here but I was thrilled to find everyone.

It is amazing how connected I get to the these folks and their stories and think about them when I am going about my day. I learn from the sage advice here and others struggles and recently changed my approach to a situation I was in because it was the best way to handle it. Needed you. Need you.

I also laugh a little more and longer.

I am among the ones who read the KT first. I also want to win jasdip's trivia contest sooo badly but I have strong competition who, like me, are almost always wrong. If there ever is a question that asks what do 1 in 3 people at a certain kitchen table do every day I think we would all get the answer right.

I do wish the best for everyone here in the future.
