I froze mine, and have been indoors since Christmas afternoon, so I'm outta here.

Anyone doing returns, today?

I went out to shop the sales yesterday and again today. Didn't buy much but it was fun looking.

I'm staying in, cleaning out from the NorthEast blizzard of Dec 26. Will eat leftovers tonight for sure!

Who is eating salad for lunch today?

I had a lettuce salad with different things on it, cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, cucumbers, croutons and poppy seed dressing. I also had a tablespoon of kidney bean salad and about the same of cole slaw, plus I had the pot pie and a sausage and green beans and fried rolls with apple butter and the greatest iced tea. After I got divorced I was living alone and occassionally I would invite a lady over for a home cooked meal rather than going out someplace. My problem was that although I love to cook, I didn't have a clue what the ladies might want to eat so I hit on a solution that worked great for me. First off, I planned meals that are easy to make individual portions such as stuffed baked chicken breasts, chicken cordon bleu, Steak Florentine, Stuffed baked pork chops, Fried chicken, baked fish, broiled salmon, BBQ ribs, meatloaf, my own oriental stir fried shrimp & chicken, Saur Braten, Roast beef, lamb chops and smoked turkey, along with some sides such as shrimp fried rice, rice pilaff, wild rice, my own succotash recipe, and even some twice baked potatoes. I would devote an entire day to cooking and when I cooked I made at least 8 portions of each item and sometimes cooking two or three items in the oven at once. When they were done I put them up with the Seal-a-Meal and popped the portions in my freezer, but not before I had plated at least one portion long enough to take a picture of it, before I sealed that portion too. I then sat down to my computer and made up a menu. When the ladies showed up for dinner they would ask, whats cooking? I would simply hand them a menu and say, "Pick our what you like". The first couple times I presented the menu I got some silly looks, but they were gracious enough to stay for dinner anyway, but after that first experience they all said they wanted to do it again. When they started telling other women in our social set what I did suddenly I had lots of ladies scheming a way to get an invite....LOL Now that I am with Jan, I still enjoy cooking like that, and it is so convenient to just go out to the kitchen and select what you want.

I will eat left over meat like ham, turkey,roast beef and steak or meatloaf. I like leftover meats cold on sandwiches. Love cold rare steak by itself. Other than soup, chili or sauces that blend their flavors sitting for a day not much else. Most people I eat out with take anything left home with them. If the dogs can't eat it right when I get home then I never take a doggie bag. The thought of eating food that has sat and traveled repels me. I've never eaten sandwiches that were made ahead for lunch. I'd take the ingredients and put them together at lunch time. Even as a child. i came home for lunch but if I ate at school my mother would pack something like cheese and crackers , cold fried chicken or salami some good bread to eat it with. Never a sandwich. To me a sandwich is a leftover and not fit for consumption after an hour.

Still too snowy and icy here. I hope to get out tomorrow. We have an after Christmas party togo to tomorrow night and I need a few things for my appetizer. I also need to return a few things.

We are!!! I think Dean ate the last of prime rib for breakfast, still have lasagna and chicken & wild rice soup. We love leftovers...so many things taste even better the next day...or 3!

I still have plenty of prime rib since the one we had was 3-1/2 pounds. It didn't look very big until after we cooked it!! I'll seal that in a few minutes and freeze it. Just took a break from cleaning out both refrigerators and dumping a bunch of stuff leftover from who-knows-when.

Oh I wish I had some leftovers, but since I have had the flu for a while we did not have a Christmas meal so no leftovers to have. I think I could actually eat something now too LOL
Oh well we did have a great Christmas meal the weekend before Christmas (which was how I caught the flu) when visiting family in Louisiana. At least I had that good meal to remember.

We were at DD's for Christmas dinner so we have no left over I leave whatever I take there. I did not go out at all ysterday. DH bought me a Jumbo Jack and fries for dinner with wine~~not going out today until dinner time meeting two of the kids at Marie Calendars for dinner today is DH 60th :)Tomorrow I am out and about early to check out what is left~~~just one return this year a cork screw DH and DS each got me one I was confused because we have one LOL taking DH back DS was easier for me to use.

We're having left over back ribs for dinner. I need to find something to have with them. Maybe some coleslaw? Haven't set foot out of the house today and don't plan to.

Nope. We had ham for Christmas, ham sandwiches yesterday, and last night I cut the meat off the bone and froze it in 4 meal size packages plus the still meaty bone for soup. Tonight we are having fried potatoes and bratwurst.

Not a lot of leftovers here. We ate two meals on Christmas Day and then on Sunday some of the kids came and ate after church, so they are getting used up. Shopping today, probably won't be out the rest of the week only to go to Amber's for New Year's Eve.

Uggghhh,we had so much food over the past 3 days....I wondered out loud yesterday if everyone goes as crazy as we do with food. It's pretty ridiculous actually....we usually do more appetizer type foods rather than a big sit down meal. I felt like cr*p today; I'm sure the poor diet was at fault.

We had turkey, cabbage rolls and stuffed shells for Christmas. We had the cabbage rolls last night and stuffed shells tonight. There wasn't much turkey left... the dogs are getting it. One more night of leftovers and that's it... well- if you don't count turkey tettrazini that I made and froze on Sunday. We're having that on Wednesday.

no leftovers except pie and that's in small doses, lol...went to sam's club yesterday and got some fantastic buys on toys, cards...did target today but not so good..the card were wiped out and knew they would be, they had so few...

know it's the in thing to email christmas but sure miss the newsy letters and pictures of kids or grands...i read my cards at least 3 times before dumping...i keep photos...

We are! Kids couldn't get up here yesterday because of snow and icy roads, so we had ham biscuits, along with chips and salad, and tonight we had sliced ham, green bean cassorole and candied yams. Did give husband's buddy a nice plate of ham since he got out and brought us a loaf of bread today! I guess tomorrow night will be leftovers from tonight! o)

I shipped the wife out to see her granddaughter, so I'm alone tonight; Its left-over time! For dinner, I reheated the remains of a beef roast and fried potatoes. (Its been 8 months since I've fried potatoes. For good diet reasons, I avoid my fried potatoes and have then rarely. Most of the time, Its baked potato for me.)
