Flirting With Forty.... the movie

Did anyone watch this last night? It was about 40 minutes before Woody realized that the actress in it was Heather Locklear, she's had so much work done on her face she was darn near unrecognizable. Her lips were so puffy, she could barely close her mouth, looked like. Very distracting to me.

The movie did a pretty good job of sticking fairly closely to the book, with a few annoying changes, like the man's name and the location of where she lived, and a few other things. I wanted to slap her XH last night, just like I did when I read the book, too, so that was nice. HA! lol And the kids who played her kids, so cute!

Did anyone else watch? Any opinions? It was on Lifetime, I think, and I'm sure it'll be on again soon, too, because Christmas plays a big part in it so it's likely to become a holiday movie favorite.

I recorded it, but haven't watched it yet.

It's on again tonight at 9:00 on Lifetime.....

I saw the last half. I guess, I will have to catch the beginning.

I knew it was Heather, but didn't think it was as bad as Goldi Hawn's lips in "first wifes club", or whatever it was called.

Didn't read the book, so nothing to compare. I liked what I saw, cept the ex's attitude at the hospital.

Hi Ginny: The Hanalei Bay Plantation has been absorbed into a planned community known as Princeville. The mid-range Hanalei Bay Resort and the 5-star Princeville Hotel are there now. There are smaller condos for rent scattered throughout the area. The Princeville Hotel now occupies the spot where they filmed the scenes I described above. The beach itself is still relatively the same and the town Of Hanalei, with the exception of the odd sushi bar or two, seems stuck in a time warp. Last time I was there was Summer 2001. Chisue, my dad used professional cameras, though he was an amateur photographer. One was a Speed Graphic, which newspaper photographers used back then. Another was a Hasselblad. I don't remember the others. He used medium- and large-format cameras, mostly. They give so much more detail than 35mm. The negatives I'm scanning now are medium format. He used to say there are two types of photographers--artists and equipment men. He said he was an equipment man. I think there are more than two types of photographers. And I think he was a lot more than an equipment man. Thank you, all! Susan

I loved Chicken Run, and realized I'd missed many good lines the first time, when we watched it again. The line I laughed hardest and loudest was 'Captain, we've got a cling-on, the engines can't take much more'. Gods must be Crazy is wonderful and still stands up over time - I showed it to my DH a few years back. The sequel is a disappointment btw I love silent movies, btw. Some of my fav include Sunrise, Metropolis (for the 'a head of its time' design, not so much for the acting), The General, The Wind and Greed. Also love some original silents of later popular movies: Wizard of Oz and Oliver Twist are very interesting, and Scarlet Letter is probably the best version I've ever seen. I have a huge collection of these movies and often find myself drawn to the time and place, and the acting of those days.

I watched it - but fell asleep before it was over. Typical!

I thought Heather looked somewhat strange... at certain angles she looked very fake. I kept wondering why they picked her to star as someone turning 40 when they could've just made it "Flirting with 50" which would've been closer to her age. I didn't know it was based on a book of that name. Still as soon as I saw the preview I thought you've got to be kidding - she's no where near 39 turning 40!

What I saw of the movie I liked. I will watch for it to repeat so I can see the end. The surfer instructor was awfully cute!

I wanted to see it but my darned satellite went out! I think it is replaying tonight or tomorrow, so I will try to catch it.

I thought it was stupid. I'm tired of them making such a big deal about older woman/younger man relationships.
Poor Heather looked fake. So many actresses are crossing the line when it comes to having work done. I guess I'm lucky because I can't afford the cosmetic surgery. If I could, I'm sure I'd go the same route.
She's was beautiful. She should have let herself age a little.

I decided I wasn't interested in her when a while back she said in an interview, that she fell in live with (one of her husbands) Tommy Lee because he could put a cigarette out on his tongue. As for her looking strange. Thats what happens when these women and some men, get so much work done. Goldie didn't have anything done to her lips for the movie, First Wives Club. They did it with make up and her kind of pooching out her lips. Dottie

I saw Goldie Hawn on "Inside the Actor's Studio" and she said it was saline injections in her lips and they were quite painful.

I meant to watch it last night, but forgot about it. I'll see if I can get it tonight.

I had a BF 14 years younger than me after my Marriage of 20 years. It lasted almost 2 years. So, I was curious to see the movie.
