Did anyone watch the eclipse this morning?

I was awake and saw it. Didn't have to brave the cold either. I just watched out the window. Only partial here and I'm not a fanatic about astronomy and such but I still find it interesting when I see it. The moon was very orange and the shadow pretty distinct. Meant to post something about it earlier in case anyone was interested but between forgetting and getting involved with other things, it didn't happen.

I didn't see it and had not even heard about it until I saw this. Darn! It was a cloudless night here, it would have been a great view of it.

I was able to watch it too. I work 2nd shift, but had off Wednesday nite. And our skies were clear. Really nice colors. I didn't get any pics either. Thanks for showing yours Grb. Kat

I finally watched the show late last night...What a great show...there were 3 or 4 story lines going on and it was sure action packed...the older couple made me so sad and think of my parents...They were married 57 years until my mother died...My dad was devastated at the loss of his wife and only lived a year longer then her... I sure hope Dr Hahn doesn't try to take Izzy down before she exits the show (and a very good riddance I say!)

They say you should get tested even if not symptomatic, but not right away. I have heard at least 3-5 days from a known exposure and even then you need to isolate for at least 10-14 days. Ocotillo, you are a contact of a contact. That leaves you being aware and extra careful, but no needing to isolate unless the co-worker tests positive or shows symptoms. My son is in a similar situation. His director's daughter had a close contact at school and had to be taken home to isolate for 2 weeks. The mom was able to return to school as she was only a contact of a contact. My son also had a contact with a director at another school when he went to pick up some borrowed equipment. Both men were wearing masks, but he other director tested positive shortly afterwards. My son verified with phone records that he was there about 10 minutes. The CDC says 15 minutes is a close contact, so he was told to remain at his school. With everything on the rise, I'd have been more comfortable if they had him isolate. He lives less than half a mile away and we may not be able to be together for Christmas. :(

It was a surprisingly good view here to see what I could see anyway. Low in the sky but still right above the tree levels. Clear, 7ÃÂ° morning. I was wondering if trees, lights and stuff would obstruct the view but was surprised. The article I read said to look to the WNW and sure enough, there it was. I had set a reminder in the computer in case I was awake, which I was and usually am awake at that time. I thought about trying to take a picture of it but the digital camera is not real conducive to that type of photography. Should get some film for the old 35mm and have around for occasions like this. It wasn't anywhere near a full one visible here but the partial was still interesting. I wouldn't have known about it had I not been surfing a shipping site and it was a link headline.

Sorry I didn't get something posted before. I kind of thought someone else would have posted on it so I didn't think it was too important. I was surprised to not see something! Seems like I'm usually late to the party on posting this type of news!

Looks like 2014 is the next one and should be visible in the US if we're here. Set your reminders!

Missed the eclipse, but caught the big orange moon just before it set. Wow! Gorgeous! (Guess I didn't drink enough water before bedtime to wake earlier. LOL)

Didn't know a thing about it until later, but glad you saw it. They say you could see the sun and eclipsing moon at the same time, which is rare.

On my way to breakfast Kiwanis meeting I saw that the moon was partially eclipsed. That was at 6:30 a.m. CST.

Too foggy and cloudy here too. It was clear and cold, 32F, with a full and sharp view of the moon when I went to bed 11:30, so I set an alarm earlier than usual on Saturday, got up and even went outside in pjs but it had clouded up, no moon visible. It had even warmed up 3F overnight, no frost. But sadly our cloud 'blanket' also meant no eclipse...

I have a windbreak of spruce trees to the West so I had to bundle up and trudge through the snow to see it. There was a thin crescent just above the horizon and I only had to stand out there in the -13 windchill about 5 minutes until it was totally eclipsed just as the moon touched the horizon. Beautiful!

Ah, I see I wasn't too late. I was too *early*. The moon was about to go down behind a neighbor's house when I saw it glowing orange. I thought the eclipse had already happened; it was just starting! Well, I was dressed for bed, not for running out in 20F temps to find a clear horizon.

This morning the moon was still big and bright and higher up in the sky at 7 a.m. And it was still darn cold outside!
