Its A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood!

It is in the mid 30's and the sun is really shining! So nice for a change. Izzi and I went for a bit of walk and I put feed in the birdfeeder. I may go out again in awhile. I have been making up lime Jell-O salad and bologna salad. I have to wait a bit for some things to be ready before I can finish them up. More house work too today. How is your weather today? Hope all are having a good day.

Rainy, cloudy, DARK outside!

I would love a bologna sandwich.

Used to fry bologna, no slits, let it curl up in a cup.

Serve with potato salad in the cup and set it on top of lettuce.

Lovely sunshine, little wind, and the temp is way up to 15Âº.
Just got back from getting a perm and the sun felt actually warm. Going to a "festivity" this afternoon at the American Legion......music, silent auction, then Scandinavian buffet. Sounds like a great afternoon.

Thats my plan, to can, freeze and dehydrate all my produce. But i do have neighbors that are willing to buy some of my stuff, becuase they either dont have the room or just no time...so what I dont use i guess ill sell to them and buy next years seeds, plants and other garden related items. But thatrs only what wont be put up. Just came from the garden today and some of my okra is about 6" tall and looking good same with the celery, took awhile to germinate but it is doing great as well. Ill be putting in my garlic and shallots today as well, hopefully i have better luck with it then last year. I planted sweet peppers out in the garden today and put my hot peppers in containers. Did 2 garden tours today, people dont look at me as im nuts anymore but now they admire my work in the garden. Its nice to see that they understand why most of my yard is garden now, but it took rising food prices and gas prices to understand. Well i better get back out ther and get more done before the rain hits. Have a great day in the garden everyone.

If you two were walking the paths by Red Rock, you may have been very close to our house. We live across the highway from the marina, in Dutchman's Landing East. If you are in the area again, let us know and we could meet. The bike paths are fun to walk, and they are working on making them longer. Did you see the Bald Eagles? A great place to see them, is just over by our house in a cove across the highway from the marina, you can park on a gravel road and watch them soaring for fish. They are a beautiful site. Lots of people were taking photos yesterday.

We are having leftover night to clean out the fridge before we leave. Mostly the meal will consist of spaghetti and meatballs but I have some other bits and pieces to toss out there that sound more interesting than the spaghetti.......But my Dearest Darling will have the spaghetti. He'd like to have it every night.

Glorious day here in central OK. Like most of the rest of the US, we've been in a horrible heat bubble. But today was just perfect! I was able to pull some weeds, water the flower beds & brown spots in the yard with out feeling like I was going to melt. LOL According to the weather man, we're going to start moving up in temps by the weekend. So for now I will enjoy this brief respite! Rob, hope your mom is better soon!

Glenda--I LOVE that idea! Bologna cups rule :-)

Cold and gray today. Temp is around 66. Sure wish the sun would come out.

Going for groceries later. By the time we got finished at the bank and two drugstores yesterday, it had started to drizzle and was very cold so we just came home.

I've been making out Christmas cards. Had to stop to eat a bite of lunch. Then I came here and now I don't want to go back to the Christmas cards. A nap sounds delicious! I had half a meat loaf sandwich, a few chips and a handful of grapes and a tiny glass of Coke. That's why I need a nap! lol

I started baking Christmas cut-out cookies this morning at 10:30am., made the dough yesterday so all I had to do was take it from the fridge and roll it out and start with the cookie cutters. Think I got at least 3doz. baked, and tomorrow I will put the frosting on and then mail 2doz.of them to a friend on Monday.

While they baked, I watched TCM movie channel (A Christmas Carol with Reginald Owen is on now), just came in from hanging the wreath on the old schoolhouse door and thinking about taking the dog for a walk. But, it's still a bit chilly out there at 33 degrees despite all the sunshine;so I'll have to think awhile about that. Hung the other wreath on the front door, an all plastic made-to-look-like boxwood wreath that I've had for years and is so sentimental. Every Christmas I find bits missing or laying at the bottom of the storage bag. It's frayed gold foil ribbon and half- glittered decorations stuck into one side of it never get replaced.

I did take a quick trip around the garden to see what's going on and really need to put the leaf mulch down soon. The ground is frozen, but tonight I think we are suppose to get rain and sleet. The bird bath looks like a mini skating rink.

New snow, temp 0, inside is good, DD is doing my shoping, only a few things, roads icy.
