I'm so glad you like your package, Kym! It was a lot of fun picking out springy things for you to enjoy while all around you it's stil winter. HUGS! Patty

We call it ham salad, to. I make it all the time. I use 2 lbs bologna, 9 or so boiled eggs, a 24oz jar of sweet pickles,1 baseball sized onion and miracle whip. Sometimes after it sits you need to add more miracle. I use the old fashion hand grinder. I grind up the eggs first, then all the other things. Yummy, yummy.. One day I was coming out of Meijer and I heard someone call my name. It was a guy my hub worked with years ago and we had camped with a few times when our kids were young. He asked me if I would send him my ham salad recipe. He said he had trisd to make it a couple times and it never tasted right. He told me it was the best he had ever had. he gave me his email address and I sent it to him.. I, too, like the Echrich bologna the best. I just got a new table and chairs and it won't work to fasten the grinder to it. I have to figure out some other place to do it. I am sure hubby wil get something figured out for me. It is one of his favorite things.. Susie

OAH, looks like a lot of us have the same great memories. Your post really hit home when you said you finally figured out why your mother "preferred" the back and neck. Mine did the same thing. Mother could get 11 pieces of chicken out of one chicken. Harry cuts them up that way, too. Geez, I sure miss her chicken. We'd have salmon patties on Fridays, since we couldn't eat meat back then. We always had mashed potatoes and creamed peas with ours. She mashed up bones and all, too. I betcha' a lot of us are planning on salmon patties in the very near future! So thanks for the reminder. We ate bologna sandwiches, too, but we only had Miracle Whip at our house. It really was sinful--butter on one slice of bread and MW on the other. :-)

I've checked 5 costcos in in the last week (SD County), all trees are Franz nursery. Lots of lemons and limes, most oranges are Owari satuma or Clementine, dwarf and regular found but not both at the same store, with the odd washington navel, one tango didn't look so good. Only one out of four costcos had any grapefruit, star ruby and oroblanco I think (palamar airport) and some budda hand (escondido). I think I saw a Minneola Tangelo in one store. Several Calamondin and Mandarinquat in several stores. I grabbed an owari satsuma on unknown with a lot of young growth as I had no orange trees yet, haven't planted in ground yet, likes my cheap greenhouse enough to bud out in the week I've had it. I think the old pictures of W&N trees look a lot nicer for a cheaper tree, as the price was $21 before tax, but I still think what I got was worth the price. Was hoping for a Tarocco blood orange this year, but Franz has none assuming this is accurate (http://www.frantznursery.com/pdf/Frantz-Availability.pdf), and would explain why I haven't found any blood oranges. Then again, there's this page which has blood oranges (http://www.frantznursery.com/products/citrus/) so might be later this year or supply problems
