Oh, working on Christmas cards and getting ready to go to the post office soon with Amber, then pick up some lunch and back to her house. I will watch the baby while she goes in the garage to find her Christmas card supplies. It was pretty nippy out this morning, 25 when I looked at the thermometer. Just a trace of snow left on the roofs around here. Good luck with the pets. I hope they get along and they both heal quickly. Laundy and dishes also done today.

It's cold here too, frost all over the ground this morning when the girls got up for school. There's still spots out back, but it's nice and sunny, blue skies.

I have a few more Christmas cards too. All my KT ones have gone out, though.

I've completely emptied the "basement bedroom" which had shamefully become a no-mans-land of empty boxes and Christmas stuff.

DH is going to nightshift soon; he must have a dark, quiet, place to sleep during the day. His hunting buddies often need a place to crash.

Here I was with a dedicated "extra bedroom," but no space to put a person in it.

Today I'm washing the walls, woodwork, closet, light fixtures, ceiling, floor...everything...top to bottom. The neighbor and I are laying tile on the concrete floor next week.

The room will be furnished with a twin captain's bed (for now) nightstand, lamp, clock radio, chest of drawers, door mirror, large area rug, fire and carbon monoxide alarms, and a chair.

Nothing else will be kept or stored in this room so it can actually function as a guest room for younger visitors, especially the younger guys. For those that don't want to be in basement, and for Mom, aunties or the monster-in-law, there is the sewing room/guest room upstairs.

It's the warmest room in the basement; but we have a small ceramic heater in there. This 10x12 room has FIVE electrical sockets on the walls and two hard-wired wall sconces. Electrical access and light are not issues in this room, LOL!

I'm so excited to have another room in this Little House of Horrors finished, functioning, and useful. I told Wes it's defintly a "boys" room, so we're hanging some of our wildlife prints in there; he has a couple mounted antler sets (sans heads, thankfully) to put up, and I'm finishing another earth-toned Log Cabin quilt for the bed.

This is my focus for today.

Didn't do much today, had lunch at Taco Bell, then spent my reward money at Eddie Bauer, looked around at Rue 21 where my niece is manager, bought some groceries at Target and Braums before I came home. I usually do my house work on the weekends. Had a new neighbor move in today, senior newly weds I think. Nothing like new love to cause a sparkle in the eyes. Now I am going to watch Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman in Far and Away. Worked on a new wallpaper today.

The coteacher in the 3 year old room was out today, so I "got" to fill in. Arghhhhhhhh!!!!! 6 o'clock couldn't come soon enough. Wild twin boys in that room that remind me of Mowgli from Jungle Book!

I'm off work indefinitely now, so I've been busy doing things around the house. I would rather be at work, but I'm taking advantage of having time to catch up on things around here, and being able to nap when I need to. Today I cleaned out some cupboards and a closet, and also the fridge freezer. Then I went outside and did some work in the greenhouse- not very much, but it was a start. I also had someone over to discuss a possible renovation.
