Does anyone have one of these?

Those ranges look so cool, and would go so very well, in my 50's kitchen in the new house.

A little too pricy at the moment, but I was wondering if anyone has one, and how they like it? What you think of the quality, was it worth the money? Any problems you've had using it?

Santa was very generous this year. Along with a bunch of scrollsaw blades, paint brushes, oil pencils, tips for my woodburning tool, hubby surprised me with a Taurus 3 glass saw. I about fell out of my chair. I never even mentioned it but my two other saws are out of commission so.....................Yeeeeeeeeeeee Hawwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! I am a happy camper. Santa's helper's (sister in law and partner) got me my carbon paper I desperated needed, more tips, paint brushes and oil colors and three new paperbacks from my favorite authors. Plus they got me a new woodburning pen with lots of tips and extra doodads.............Yeah! I'm glad someone reads my christmas list. I don't know which project to do first................ I was going to take down the little 3 foot christmas tree (freecycle)and hubby said no leave it up ? ? ? ? ? He suggested I make ornaments for Valentines Day, St. Patricks Day, Easter, etc and hang them on the tree............Wow what a great idea! Hugs, Judy

Well, what can I say, other than "Thanks!" My family did an incredible job this year, and every last present I got is directly related to plants! My parents started it off by giving my wife and I membership to the Huntington Gardens, which will get lots and lots of use. My Mom, somehow managed to find me a seedling of Adenium socotranum! I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the little box and saw that baby-fattie staring back at me! My Dad got me the Illustrated Handbook of Succulent Plants: Dicotyledons, which has been on my wish list for ages. It is without doubt the most scholarly plant book I own now, and a little over my head, but quite a nice addition to my library none the less. Also, and this one was a real surprise, my sisters got me a 3 year membership to CSSA! Tucson, here I come! I am *very* lucky to have a family so willing to indulge my plant insanity!!!

DH & I don't exchange gifts either, but DS gave us both wonderful gifts. This is one of mine. After 40 years without music (I recently received a cochlear implant), DS gave me an MP3 player that can be hooked up directly to my implant's processor. He took the time to download tons of songs that I remember from the late 60s & early 70s. Some of them I can't understand, but the ones I do - it's magical. DS got the idea when he heard me listening to the song by DeeDee99's DH here on GW. We know another couple that exchange only stockings. They put Scrabble letters in a hat & each pull one, but keep their letter secret. The stocking they make for their spouse must contain only things that begin with that letter. Dh and I decided to spare each other the 'going out to shop for something you may not want or need' experience this year. We've just decided to wait until the mad rush settles down in the stores and go out and buy ourselves a goodie. I need a new purse, and I'm sure to want something quilt-related from the fabric store when they start marking down for clearance. I already bought a new, more powerful sewing machine a month ago......so I'm not feeling particularly 'needy' in that respect. My Dear G'son pulled my name in the family gift exchange, and got me a gift certificate to the local kitchen store. I have to admit I am as addicted to cooking as I am sewing, and I'm sure I'll have fun shopping there.

Yes, I think I'll put one on my list for 2009. My current range has been misbehaving lately.

What does it have in common with a front-loading washer?

I'd have a heart attack!

Says he .. who recently saw his asset shrink by over 25% without getting bent out of shape - was rather surprised at how little emotional turmoil that it generated.

Aware, I guess ... that I can't take it with me.

Its main job is to give me a comfortable retirement.

And leave something for my "kids".

And something for charity.

Enjoy your weekend ... and let Santa sleep - for now.

If I bought that range right now,I wouldn't be afford to buy food to cook on it...they are beautiful though!
