Thank you, Mayberry, for hosting another fun and successful swap! Your yard, and house, were absolutely perfect for the swap! And, oh, how I envy you your big yard! I hope we’re able to come back sometime in the future to see what you decide to do with all your space! Bobby�s Favorite Goulash 1/2 - tablespoon Paula Deen�s House Seasoning 3 - tablespoon soy sauce 3 - bay leaves 2 - tablespoon Italian seasoning 2 - (15-ounce) cans diced tomatoes 2- (15-ounce) cans tomato sauce 3 - cups water 3 - cloves garlic, chopped 2 - large onion, chopped 2 lb - lean ground beef 1 - teaspoon Paula Deen�s Seasoned Salt 2 - cups elbow macaroni, uncooked 1 - cup frozen mixed veggies or frozen corn (If using canned, drain first) In a Dutch oven or large pot, saute the ground beef over medium-high heat until no pink remains. Break up the meat while sauteing. Spoon off any grease. Add the onions and garlic to the pot and saute until they are tender, about 5 minutes. Add 3 cups water, along with the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, bay leaves, soy sauce, House Seasoning, and seasoned salt. Stir well. If adding mixed veggies or corn add them now. Place a lid on the pot and allow this to cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Add the elbow macaroni, stir well, return the lid to the pot, and simmer for about 15 - 20 minutes. Turn off the heat, remove the bay leaves, and allow the mixture to sit about 15 minutes more before serving. Serve with garlic bread and a salad. Paula's House Seasoning: 1 - cup salt 1/4 - cup black pepper 1/4 - cup garlic powder Mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

roselin, I made, or should I say am making a pork goulash today. Not your recipe, but one that I found and modified into a pork goulash pot roast a la Lorna Sass' pressure cooker book. I am testing dh's old pc out with a couple of this kind of stew to see if we can use his old contraption or not. I'm now waiting for the pressure to drop after 40 min. I used two thirds of a pork shoulder. (I asked them to cut the tip off so I could get a pork shank.) Yep, your son is just up the road from us. It's nice to think of that connection. ;-) And I forgot if I knew, where are you Mom? Maureen

This isn't a family one but it is one I have been making for several years and we really enjoy it. HUNGARIAN GOULASH OVER NOODLES Printed from COOKS.COM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 lb. beef, cut into cubes2 tbsp. brown sugar3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce6 tbsp. ketchup3 tbsp. flour2 med. onions, minced1 1/4 tsp. paprika1 1/4 tsp. salt3/4 tsp. vinegar1 1/2 c. water1 (6 oz.) pkgs. Skroodles (or any kind of noodles)Brown meat on all sides in fry pan; add onions. Combine paprika, brown sugar and salt. Combine Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, ketchup; add to meat; add 1 cup of the water; stir; cover. Cook over low heat 2 1/2 hours or until meat is very tender. Blend flour with remaining 1/2 cup water; add to meat mixture; stir until thickened. Boil noodles in salted water until tender; drain. Serve meat mixture over noodles. Serves 6. RL`
