Lunchlady did good this year;) I got my CD player for my yoga room~~wanted a digital timer to time poses~~DH was spying in my computer history found I had checked out a fancy/pricey timer that you can time 50 sequences and it plays Tibetan and Japanese chimes~~~I was so excited and surprised that he would do that ;)Really he is usually clueless!!

DD#1 got me some Wen shampoos from QVC I was too cheap to order~~~and a Vanity Fair mag I would never buy with my love Johnny Depp on it (smoochie)~~DGD got me a book called PEACE 50 years of protest love it!! And a darling Peace book mark with my inital on it!! This made me cry it means she gets me!

Several other nice goodies from others~~~In my family this is called a SCORE~~you don't get it often and usually only one person a year gets it, this year it was me~~

What did you all get????

I would say you definitely SCORED !! Way to go... I Scored too.... I got Socks... lots of my favorite things... lots of socks.. pink, red, blue, black, funky designs, toe socks, knee socks, ankle socks, fluffy socks, cotton socks.. I GOT SOCKS !! And some flannel lounging pajamas and an assortment of Victoria Secret scents.. (not my favorite), and a small ring dish that looks like angel wings, a gift card for Lowes... (come on spring !!) a couple of bread cookbooks, an extra mixing bowl for my Kitchen Aid, a dog biscuit cookie cutter.. (I make home made pup treats) and hubby said he will pay for a new digital camera as soon as I pick one out... he says to find a really good one. And best of all, I got a Savior... and a white Christmas for the first time since we moved here in 1986. Yep, it's all good.

I had the best time too by anonomously giving away fluffy ankle socks to various folks. They had no idea who they were from, and the look on their faces was so priceless... and I won't ever tell. I just set them next to their bible in their pew at church, or in the car in the church parking lot, if it is unlocked... I think I get more tickled just watching them upwrap and then look to see who it is from... =0)

small potatoes! I just got 12 wall of waters for $12! I saw they where reduced from 8.99! so had been in store for some time! routed down took the least undamaged and unbleached packets, then at checkout time my twins, went mental! so I took them out of the store, and put them in their car seats, hubby paid, not till we got home, did he realise that he told the cashier 3 of them! we had 4! we both felt bad but, at the same time these are clearly old stock, as in years old! so I was expecting problems with them, when we brought them( and nearly didn't the packets where realy mauled! and most the packaging had been pierced,or decomposing.) so we will not try to return them, but so far so good in the testing of them!

About campanula's question, oh yes, I think so. It's called biophilia, the love of living things, and tends not to limit itself just to plants. We have two cats and a dog, and I want to get a pair of geese. (Sherry, I foresee your post going off as hostage to a new topic: perhaps it's time for me to start a new thread?) Melissa

I love watching my grandkids play soccer.....and it does sometimes get very rough....glad your daughter's team won!....what classification is your daughter's school? My grand-daughter is a Freshman and starts on the Varsity team. She can be such a prim and proper young lady, but she can be a fierce competitor on that soccer field!

I think it's cool you gave strangers sock gifts. I had a wonderful Christmas. No gifts for me and DH, but both our daughters were home for dinner. And my Mom in the hospital is getting stronger.

CountrySunshine the sock idea is neat I may copy it next year or think of my own.

OHHHH Glenda I love Brighton they have a purse with a heart shaped handle I have always wanted but it is too small for two pair of glasses.

Jannie glad about your mom that is a wonderful Christmas gift.

HMM mammie I would have to call a throw down with you for Johnny ;)One of my DD#1's pal was JD's personnal guest relations escort at Disneyland for years he says he and his wife were the best people ever and that Johnny's mom was great also.He said alot of the stars were not so nice to him. Larry King was also one of the best making him eat dinner with his family and all. What a job eh?????

Both sons broke the oath of no gifts or gift cards this year. I love to buy and wrap and send so Chritmas was a little dull leading up to it for me. one DS gave me check for 1500 and the other one 500 plus a box of wrapped goodies from him with GCards from Golden Corral, Red LObster, various candies and calenders

Today I ventured out after church and got myself some socks to wear around the house, a CuddleDud top and some ISU earrings.
Tuesday I fly to NYC for a 6 day visit.

I got my presents today, and am happy with all I received, although I didn't ask for any material thing. I got bulbs to plant for spring blooms, a black diamond cross/necklace with white diamonds in the center, a high-end cologne gift set and a crystal angel - all but the necklace came from my Grandkids. The necklace came from a church friend.

Even though I got not so nice gifts from my husband,The kids spent way too much on me but I love it all. I got a set of tools, Kobalt ones at that. It has a hammer, multi- sized screw driver, pliers, tape measure and I don't know what all. I also got an indoor out door thermometer, I sure need that. Lots of the nice Christmas cards by Leanin' Tree that I like, I think about 5 boxes, a great big box with five pound packages of bird seed in them, a pair of black boots, two pair of black socks, a poinsettia pin, a set of 3 matching throw rugs, a sparkly purple blouse, another color purple cardigan type sparkly top, a horse calendar, some money, $20, a 3 piece mirror set for my big rig, and a Nikon camera! So the kids really went all out for me and I really like all they gave me. Now for what Norm gave me:( a five pound bag of Gold Medal flour (he thinks it is my favorite flower) and a two package set of ceramic stove top cleaner.

Not so much about what I got but what I gave - finally finished my Grandson's baby scrapbook - just the baby shower, prep for his room and the time in the hospital. Then I took the additional 160 pictures from the rest of his first year and put them in a photo album in order of his age and labelled them. He is now 18 months old!

Then I made them ( and the other grands and myself) a calendar using pictures from each month so that in Jan they will be able to look back at how he looked at 6 months old and now at 18 months, etc.

Then we also gave DS and DIL a Dyson vaccuum. They were really surprised by that! Son said you know are an adult when you think a vaccumm is a great gift.

Grandson Asher made out big time! He got lots of new toys to have here and some to take home. And he actually opened a couple gifts this year and a couple of ours as well!

My best present was spending the day with him!

I don't do socks every year.... Last year were little bags of home made candy...next year I am thinking of home made goats milk soap. Nothing big.. just little goodies to see folks smile.. I think I get the most blessings from doing that... and I NEVER tell them who gave it neither... It is quite simple to do it in church... when everyone is in Sunday School, I know where folks sit and they often leave bible bags, etc.. and I just go around and leave these little prezzies.. and it's not the same people each year... I just get so tickled by it.. I am late for SS, but that's okay... I sometimes am on purpose during the months before Christmas, so they don't suspect anything..

The only one that knows it is me is the worship leader. She saw me from the sound booth last year.. but I have her sworn to secrecy.... lol

We don't do gifts anymore, but back when we did, we would latch onto something that we knew my mom liked and it would become the year of the flashlight, when she would get 5 or 10 of them, or the year of the magnet, same thing- she'd get lots of them.

Since we don't do presents anymore, Woody bought 8 nice scratch off tickets from our new state lottery. We hid them under our plates and placemats. I won $10, Mum won $4, Pops won $4 and poor Woody got nothing. It was fun to see my mother get all excited, she such a little gambler and loves lottery tickets. She had more fun doing that while we waited for everyone to finish eating. (My father eats SO slowly!)
